I just bought a 2021 Tacoma TRD Sport, Cement Grey. I traded a 2016 F150 2.7 Ecoboost Supercab. I loved my F150, but the trade in offer I got was crazy so I pulled the trigger for a new truck. Toyota would be the only other truck I would consider other than Ford so here I am. The reason I didn't go for a Tundra is the full size prices are just too steep. Hoping I love this truck too.

I did the same a while ago. Traded f150 3.5 ecoboost for a 2017 Tacoma automatic. Hated the gearing and the underpowered Tacoma compared to the ecoboost. Traded the 17 Tacoma for a 19 with manual and am a lot happier with the manual. Definitely miss the ecoboost with the 3.55 gears

I'm with you on missing the acceleration of the Ecoboost, honestly there are several things I'm missing on my F150. I'm hoping the reliability and slow depreciation of the Toyota makes up for me getting rid of a truck I liked. My wife isn't real happy either, she liked the bigger truck. I actually like having a more maneuverable vehicle. I'm also from PA, Central PA. Ask me in a couple months if I love it or hate it!

It’s amazing what a simple $150 Ov Tune will do to help with this problem. I’m on 34’s on my Tacoma and the thing was ridiculously sluggish. After the Ov Tune not only did it accelerate drastically better but it also helped with MPG.

Being new here, I researched the OV Tune and everything I'm seeing is in the $700 range. I also have a macbook so that would be another expense. I'm definitely interested in a tune, I'm not impressed with the way the truck is constantly downshifting on the highway. Maybe there is someone near where I live that does this, I'm not far from Carlisle, PA, they have a big import car show every year.

hi former Tacoma owner for 14 years just traded for a 21 Chevy Silverado. I needed more space and power. Loved my Tacoma’s I will wait to see what tundra offers in 2023. I heard it was going hybrid or full electric.

just get the KDMax tune from whoever does it in your area. Usually ~350. Undetectable by the dealer and you don’t need to buy anything. They have the cables and everything to flash it for you. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/kdmax-performance-tune-by-paparee-and-twtaco.713699/

Thanks for the info, but it appears Pennsylvania is not a great spot to get your truck tuned, I'm in Central PA and I can't find anyone. It's annoying to me that I have to tune a brand new truck, it drives terrible when cruising, feels like it's hesitating. I'm really trying to like this truck, but between the drivability and the really uncomfortable seats (just ordered seat jackers), I feel like I really made a mistake buying a Tacoma.
I do appreciate the help on the forum though, glad I found this.
