Well... came across a listing for a turbo kit for a 2nd gen 2.7 Tacoma for $600. Took some screenshots of the listing pictures because I think you'll enjoy them. AE478EE9-76C6-4A90-95BA-868885B54988.jpg1A25E75F-2262-4720-A3B4-2C9B17F155EB.jpg0AEEF6D5-9B4B-4019-929E-2307EC0F8972.jpg

That was one of my favorites. Right next to the ductape air filter and 5 silicone adapter intake.

It looks like some box tube was welded on top of the original flange and a second flange welded on top of that... sadly he didn't post any pictures of it. I just see it in the bottom corner of that one photo

2x3 welded to a log. That looks like my first manifold. Man it made so much heat and so much lag.

Long shot, but anyone here know of a good BMW tuner, I'd like someone more experienced than myself to inspect my tune and tweak it a bit. I've polished the turd as much as I think I am capable and I'd like to call it a wrap on my chase for more power, I think I've hit the point of depreciating gains just want everything to be a bit more polished. Right now it is 100% dailyable, but I'd like to be able to throw anyone behind the wheel safely so I need weird boost spikes and safer timing in certain areas.

I can't imagine how poorly that kit above performed.

Ok I have finally gotten around to setting my LS swapped 98 up for turbo. Already prepped the motor, ported 243 heads, larger cam, ring gap, head studs and MLS gaskets, trunion upgrade, new lifters, oil pump, timing chain damper setup and a double roller T chain.
I ordered a rear feed passenger side manifold with a rear entry and front T4 exit, I can just build and run a crossover from the driver's side mid length tube header over to the rear of the pass side to get the hot air into the turbo.

I have a VS racing Billet next gen 7875 and should have most of the other parts to put it together by the end of next week.

Material construction looks very similar to the Boostlab turbo that I have recently been working with.

Only took you a little while to finally get that turbo build in gear. ;):boink:

Haha thats for sure! I bought a house and property and building my shop in sections when I can afford it so the Taco didnt get any love at all for the last 4 years...but now its time! After doing tons of research this turbo seems to respond extremely well. It should be a lot of fun especially in a little 1st gen! I havent seen what you have been doing but I can only imagine its pretty ridiculous!

I do somewhere, Ill try and find some so you can see what I am working with, its a 98 5lug on 19" wheels big brake kit up front and airbags and traction bars in the rear. Since I have an aluminum LS1 5.7L Im only going to push it to about 700 crank hp or so. I plan to later swap it out to a 6.0 and should be good to 1000.

Yeah I know right? Sheesh!! Me too, cant wait to feel the boost again in the truck, been too long. If I want to feel boost I have to drive my Camaro with the ProCharger on it but thats not the same as turbo....that being said the Camaro is the net project after I get the Tacoma working. Going with billet twins on the 67 and shooting for over 1000rwhp. The drivetrain is built for it and the motor as well, just needs more atmosphere and fuel!
I forgot to go for a rid with you in your truck on Superstition last time to feel it!

Nice! My 06 is on 18's, aiming for 500 whp with the holset on my 2.7. I've found that my brakes are sufficient for autocross, I lock the tires up still.

Hope you can make it back out next year. I'm hooking up a haltech elite this summer and spending a good amount of the summer to tune it and work out the bugs.

Sweet, that should be a lot of fun! I had a 2rz that made about 550 at 28psi through a GT3076R Garrett. Lucky for me I fabricated a BBK that uses 12.2" and Wilwood 4 piston calipers. Works almost too good, well in the front anyway...

Yeah I will, gonna bring some bikes next time, I made a new bike carrier that mounts on the back of the RV and holds 2 dirtbikes and pulls the Jeep!
