    Hey All,

New Tacoma owner here! Two weeks ago today, I bought an Off-Road, double, long bed, with (among other things) the factory roof rack. I haven't used the rack yet, but checking it out to see how slick it works, now one side will not lock into the receiver plug. The catch that should spring out to lock it in place is stuck in the IN position. Anyone ever hear of this or know of a quick fix?

Other than that I'm diggin my Tacoma!

Someone help this man out because I’m thinking about installing a factory roof rack and don’t want issues.

Thanks Charlie. Another thing to know is that the cross-bars have a 43" spread, so many of the baskets I'm shopping (Thule, Yakima, etc.) can't span that much of a spread. Make sure what you plan to attach will work.

If it helps, I managed to cludge a Maxxhaul brand basket onto my OEM rack.

Never had an issue with the button you’re referring to getting stuck. Maybe you can hook some fishing line behind it to encourage it back out.

Update on the factory roof rack: Toyota dealer replaced the whole rail, and paid Uber to shuttle me back and forth. Ok.

There's a $0.10 spring in there which, if it fails, renders the rack unusable (and unsafe to drive under unless you duck-tape it down!). Unfortunately, I can't recommend the factory rack for this reason, and because I also found out it's only able to carry 100 lbs. Clearly I did not do my research there!

Once I get my mind around wasting the $400 on it (pitooey!), I might spring for the CBI Prinsu, which will hold 500 lbs.
