Yes you can actually type but obviously there's no ink. But I'm pretty sure it's functional

Read the description- it mimics some movements of a typewriter but doesn’t go to full functionaly. Sorry.

Sounds like only the middle striker moves, regardless of which key you press. The paper carriage also moves

I'd like to get it eventually, but will wait a while.

Honestly, after some re-evaluating I think I'm taking a step back with Lego overall. I went all-in over the past year and a half, and that isn't sustainable. Plus I've been making headways in some other hobbies that I'd like to focus on for a while. Still going to Brick Days next month and for that I need to finish a couple things, but I'm greatly curtailing my expenses and involvement.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...
Shuttle build came to a grinding halt today. I'm missing a piece. First time ever that this happened.
Needless to say Lego Weesa and Benny are quite upset.

That happened to me twice. First time my son and I were building the Lego Death Star and came up missing some critical bricks.
We did order replacements but fortunately had substitutes from our collection and were able to keep going.
Second time was the modular build of the restaurant. I was missing a whole bag of stuff. Fortunately I got a replacement rather quickly.
For me to have missing pieces has been the exception rather than the norm thankfully. :fingerscrossed:

I know they'll send me a replacement but
A - how long is that going to take
    and
B - should I inventory the remaining bags to make sure I'm not missing something else? What if I am and I don't inventory? Will they do two separate replacement orders for the same set?

    I want my spaceship :pout:

I think it depends on if they have it or not. In both cases for me it took a couple weeks. I absolutely went ahead and made sure I wasn’t missing anything else once I made the discovery.
Bummer your missing pieces but like I said it is quite rare in my experience to be in that situation.
Lego QC has pretty high standards.
