Wag Wag does a really good job keepin’ ‘em at bay. After all, it’s what she’s breed for & it shows. I’ve seen that dog follow a tree rat up a downspout & just sit there in the Hot sun waitin’ it out. She just lives for this. I don’t mind either.

I have chipmunks that reek havoc on my flower gardens . Last year I had about 25 tulips out front come up . This year one  monks dug up the bulbs and ate them I think .

Worms are bad this year, decimated the lettuce and turnips in a few days, now my cabbages are gone. Shouldn't be a problem replanting as we have a long growing season here in VA. I just ordered some concentrated Bacillus Thuringiensis, which is a bacteria thats supposed to specifically target caterpillars/worms and leave everything else alone. Has anyone had any experience with this stuff? Asking because I'd like to stay as organic as possible, but many organic insecticides seem to not be very effective.

We had bad army worms this year (first year planting here) and we went through and squished as many as we could and started using neem oil spray, cut them way back good for the aphids too.

So you just put it in the soil and it keeps them off the plants?

I have bad moth larvae. Eat the plants then hide in the fruit to turn into moths. Assholes! :)

Think We used somethin’ like that couple seasons back for aphids. Usually a bumper crop of Ladybugs thins ‘em out but we had few that year.

Yeah, the lady bugs definitely help but they don't stick around long enough. Probably help if I just re-up on the lady's.

    Good to know!

I've been applying neem oil weekly but it doesn't seem to help very much on the worms. It works great on aphids, scale, and even the various fungi on the squash and cucumbers, but the worms are just going wild. Hoping this bacteria stuff works as well as advertised, I really wanted to make sauerkraut this year

Perhaps our squashing was more effective than the neem oil… always interested in good solutions for pest. We harvested some sweet corn today for the first time. B94EE5E3-893C-44CD-9121-2CB388C897C6.jpg
Left to right we have lack of maturity through lack of pollination. We will see the kids loved the raw ear so the flash boil should be tasty. :hungry:

Some years I get aphids in my greenhouse early in the spring. I just get on Amazon and order some ladybugs. They work great. Probably helps that they are sort of locked in the greenhouse and can't disperse very easily.
