I'm so frustrated with my new Fox 2.5s.

I have the stage 2’s as well. I have the bed loaded down with 400lbs of sand and I was still sitting high. I probably should have ordered the stage 1’s.

What do you have on the front? 6112s?

I'm running the TRD Baja coil overs / rear shocks. It's essentially a non adjustable 6112 upfront and 5160's in the rear.

Yea I kinda saw that once I saw the rear shocks. What is your front lift height.

Most people buying these from @AccuTune Offroad are buying them for performance and not a specific lift number in mind. Accutune has excellent resources, experience, etc. and that is why many trust them and continue to use them for rebuilds and/or larger purchases. I have my eyes on the extended travel shocks in the future, but for performance and not a 3" lift. I'd be surprised if I were to ever lift my truck more than 1.5".

Cool then they should state 1.5-2 inch max lift not 3. I dont even want 3 inches of lift. I just was 2.2ish. Just make it easier on people. Im only asking for 70% of the lift they say these things can go up to. Im at 1.5 inches BEFORE the bumper.

As per usual most people bring up good points and information on here but theres always some people who don’t say anything useful. Something doesn’t add up here for sure. I would estimate a max of 2-2.5” lift at max preload with the 600# springs (just like how you had with the 6112’s) but 700’s will be the best setup with the new bumper. Accutune will get you setup right just reach out to them.

Spend 4000 dollars with accutune and they wanted to charge me to bring it in for an adjustment. I dont want even know what they would say to me bringing it in and getting the coils replaced . Even the guy says we should have mentioned something about stiffer coils with that weight. Also gave them all my specs before and bought the right coilovers. No reason I shouldnt be getting the proper lift.

Exactly the thing I was trying to avoid. Im not putting a spacer on 2000 dollar shocks that should be able to go to the height i need.

Idk man. You’re pretty salty about it and I get it. But complaining on here won’t fix your issue. We’re 3 pages into this thread, at this point, your best bet is trying to resolve this (again) with @AccuTune Offroad or sell them if you’re unhappy. Or just deal with it. Either way, best of luck. :hattip:

It 1st was a wtf if going on thread. I havent been bumping the thread with useless responses just replying to people like Im doing now. Then when they mentioned I should have been told to get bigger springs and them trying to charge me for a freaking adjustment while liking a comment saying my lack of knowledge is whats happening now has me mad. If im the guy from accutune I go shit with all that weight in the future we should have said put on 650 or 700 springs. Come get a swap whenever since your in the LA area. Spent 4k and they wanted to charge my 150 a hour shop prices just to look at it and turn a ring. LOL

You arent the first to not get the advertised lift amount. I have been looking at those shocks for my truck and most seem to get an inch or two tops.

Also the local shop I spoke with recommended a whole new leaf pack which I don’t really want or need but I could see people blowing the money and then wondering why the ass end is way up in the air and it rides like shit.

Yea i got a new leaf pack thats why I need slightly over 2 inches of lift or it looks like its sniffing the ground. There is no reason 2.5 inches shouldn't be attainable on a 0-3 inch coilover. Maybe asking lift heights is something they should do too.

Looking at Fox's web site they list a 0-1 inch lift coil over and a 0-2 inch lift coil over. I don't know where Accu-Tune got the 3" number but Fox's info doesn't match.

0-1 inch has an extended length of 22.13 inches and 4.5 inches of travel.
0-2 inch has an extended length of 22.48 inches and 4.9 inches of travel.

I'm sure you've checked, double checked and probably triple checked, BUT, just about the only thing left is Accu-Tune sent you the wrong coil overs.
In case you want to check all the numbers here's links to Fox's specs.

    0-1 https://www.ridefox.com/product.php...Toyota&model=Tacoma+&year=2018&position=Front

    0-2 https://www.ridefox.com/product.php...Toyota&model=Tacoma+&year=2018&position=Front

I couldn't find where it had been checked (by the numbers) that the coil overs were the right ones. If you already have, disregard, just trying help solve this.

    YMMV ROM

What im wondering is what happens if they mess up the spring rates, someone
Thanks for that info. I just looked up the SKU on my Shocks and fox says 0-2 inches. That makes WAY WAY more sense now. Idk why they even put 0-3 inches when Fox states 0-2. Such BS.

Well there is not a whole lot more I would like to add to this thread since it seems to be going sideways with various bits of incorrect information and suggestions. I've personally reached out to address your concerns and even had one of our sales guys call you at the end of the day on Friday to review some options. From what I was told, the phone call went well and you were going to add more preload to the coilovers and then report back to us. Still happy to help you one on one. Look forward to hearing back from you

Longer free length spring or different distances between the perches.

You can fix your problem with longer 600 lbf/in spring. You have the room as long as you don't coil bind at max bump travel which I doubt.

Im just wondering why I wasnt suggested to get 650lb or 700lb coils off the bat. There is no reason someone should have to preload these shocks as much as I had to in order to get a little over 2 inches of height(before my bumper) when I gave my specs from the beginning. Im at like 31 threads now and the shocks are super stiff like I expected. I spent 4k with you guys and when I asked someone to look at the shocks I was told "it would be 150/hr just to look at them".
