You won't be disappointed. Tip has a structured base about 2" wide which is what I used to hold tip in.

Today is the day for me. Trying to decide if I use my Pablo8 recommended pump or Costco ketchup bottle. Probably a mid size ketchup bottle might be best.

Looks good to me, I'm assuming you're going with the severe stuff for your rear diff cuz you either tow or drive a lot of mountains or otherwise use the truck pretty hard?

It sits in the driveway or I use it to go to Costco or on a rare day I even drive the 8 freeway miles to work.

    I definitely don't need anything severe :)

OK, got fill plug loose, banged up my thumb nice and good :) Now drain plug and let 'er rip I guess. Not too complicated it seems...

I have two new plugs from this thread, need to figure out which one goes where at some point.

Thanks for catching that mistake. I have 4 Quarts MTG and 2 75-90 gear, now I need to double check how much the front diff needs.

Looks like 1.6 quarts per this.

Any chance you can tip me off to the crush washer use? Are they for the front diff only? The ones I have don't fit either TC or Rear Diff plugs, I'm guessing they fit the front but I'm stuck on the front drain plug, won't budge. I think I have replacement for both front fill and drain plugs with hex head, going to try the front fill swap right now since it's loose.

Going to move on to MT fluid while I'm making a big mess before I do the cat litter cleanup.

Pretty sure the rear uses a crush washer.......oh hell I cannot remember. I know there is a thread somewhere......pretty sure the front doesn't

Go easy on the front plug, strips out really bad....

I'm guessing I just bought the wrong crush washers, they are too small for any of the plugs which are all 15/16 or 24mm (15/16 feels tighter so I went with that).

I swear it shifts smoother now, so thanks!

I gave up on the front diff, will probably take it in to a shop for that so they can throw it on a lift. I can live with overpaying for one fluid change.

One q I think I figured out the answer to by the end. When switching from one to the next, to purge the pump you run a little bit through into the drain pan first? Assuming you know you have extra?

Now it's time for me to clean up my mess...

I got a washer kit from Amazon and had no issues replacing fluids in both diffs though it was a bit of a struggle to get the front fill plug out. It also had washers for the TC but I am lazy and haven't done it yet.

I just matched the washers up with the oem ones as I pulled them.

Maybe I'm an idiot and my crush washers were all different sizes? Checking...

NOPE, all the same. I must have bought the wrong size or something.

At least I know the routine now...

Some of those washers are not crush washers, and some of them are different material which is what I meant by matching them up. I just bought the pack that @Pablo8 recommended and it works just fine lol

Yeah I thought that’s what I ordered as well. But none of the crush washers I have fit any of the plugs so I must have mis ordered on those.
