I jumped the curb in a 1989 dodge Colt once joke drag racing my neighbor in his 1989 mustang GT with nitrous. Obviously he smoked me but goofing off the Colt still got squirley and I did a 720 and jumped the curb. It bent the tie rods and the car drove straight when the wheel was turned 75 degrees right..I feel his pain.

    Aite.

My gf's back is permanently fucked up from a teenager texting and rear ending her. I was in a wreck where I was broadsided by a drunk.

I report everything that's not safe driving. Mechanical or otherwise. It ruins lives in a split second

Understood. I got smacked by a guy going 75 in his ram 1500. 6528B080-4405-4FDD-830B-CD36AD015C84.jpg
Insurance money from this is the only reason I could afford a Tacoma. Center of his bumper went straight on the B pillar. I decided I wanted to sit a bit higher up after that. Guy got two DUI’s for that one night.
I hate those who drive drunk just as much.
I do miss my fender audio system in that jetta. Everything was so crisp…

Major respect to any Motorcycle riders who ride responsible and not swerving between cars going 90 on the freeway, but that ain’t for me. At least on road. A dirt bike could be in my future. Also I’ve got an uncle who works with people who have been in moto accidents as a Physical therapist and the other uncle works in insurance and used to work mainly with motorcycle policies. Safe to say I’d be frowned upon if I got a motorcycle.

That's why I don't ride anymore. It's not my own ability to be safe I'm worried about, it's every other unpredictable asshole on the road. A minor accident with a car can kill you even if you're fully geared up on a bike. Wasn't worth the risk to me.

i hope i'm riding well into my later years...

I got tagged with my gf on the back by a car...she basically swerved/cut me off to get onto the freeway and the rear of her car slammed into the front of my bike...i managed to stay up and pulled over...was like wtf?!? i was on the KTM 990, she hit the crash bars and it dented the shit out of her bummer....my bike was pretty much ok. But seriously...so many terrible drivers on the road.

you just gotta keep it all in perspective....
track days....make you into a better road rider...

They sure do. But if the dice rolls snake eyes and a car hits a bike, the bike loses every time.

Sat my fat rear end in it.
My 5 months with a road bike ended on an arterial road when someone in the left lane, suddenly realizing they were about to rear end another car, swerved right to avoid that and side swiped me instead. It was amazing the number of things that went through my mind during the few seconds I was bouncing down the pavement. It ended up temporarily costing me 1.5 toenails (they grew back), and the insurance settlement made for a 100% return on what I had invested in the bike. Up until the last couple years, getting run over on a bike was the best financial decision I ever made :D

That was ~10 years ago. Haven't been back on one since. Still miss it...

i've crashed a motorcycle 3 times on asphalt; first two times was 'running out of talent', 3rd time was in the rain, i was being sorta reckless, plus conditions were shit.
    never on the track.
does crashing in the dirt really count?

i used to commute through downtown oakland on a bicycle...most exciting 15 minutes of the day...other than the ride home.

shit's gnar...it's not for everyone...be safe out there, make sure you give yourself the space cushion...don't outride your abilities.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
But how did he get the mechanical issue? Was he drunk and hit/runover something? Or just stupid and runover sinerhing?

My mom made friends with the local fisherman on cape cod during covid when they couldn’t sell to fish markets so she could support them. She still meets him as he’s pulling back into the harbor for fresh scallops and cod…. Best I’ve ever had literally right off the boat. Mmmmm

My sister lives in Princeville and that’s all I eat every time I’m there. Surf all morning, run to Foodland for a pre-made poke bowl, then surf again. Everyday on repeat. I thought we had good ahi here, but that stuff melts in your mouth. Somehow even better than the fish I catch myself.
