We have cold front moving in this afternoon with a small chance of rain. But we'll have 3 or 4 days of below average temps after that. I'll take it

I hate the damn thing

It does provide shade, but it's the bird hangout and my driveway is usually covered in shit. It sheds sap almost all summer as well. Not to mention the whirly-birds during the Spring...

Finally got around to cleaning up the truck. Iron decon'd and applied a coat of Griot's 3 in 1 ceramic wax. Gonna do another one tomorrow, but so far I like it!

Racing went well today. I was 5-6 seconds off the fastest time of the day, and only 3-4 seconds off the third fastest time of the day. Truck ran flawlessly, understeered everywhere, and made everyone smile. Multiple people rode along with me and said "I don't understand how you drive this truck so fast." Which is a big compliment in my opinion. I've gotta figure out what to do about the understeer though, it was hilariously bad. @Tacoma Mike Maybe I could glean some tips from you for the small sum of a cup of coffee someday.

Need to slow down to speed up and drive with throttle

To reduce understeer you need to stiffen the rear and also find opportunities on the course to transfer weight forward. Letting off the throttle a little can load up the front a bit giving them more bite

I agree with the needing to slow down to speed up. Also I think I just have too much tire under the truck for how much power it has. It won't rotate under throttle, I only get lift off oversteer, which when I try and throttle it to continue the rotation, I push the front end and wind up in a 4-wheel drift.

Needs moar greenbacks for that. And more free time to finish restoration project before starting on the truck.

Edit: I can almost hear Mike laughing and going "it's not the tires, you just need to drive better."
