does this affect hood mounted ditch lights since it goes higher?

It can, but usually you just have to angle them slightly from videos I've watched. They both still fit maybe just not at the orientation you wanted to ditch lights at. If you look at install videos a lot of guys will also have ditch lights and comment about em.

Not at all - our hood struts have the unique ability to set the hood height wherever you want it, between stock height and up to 8" higher. So you choose the height you want, and if you have ditch lights, you just set the hood to where a small gap remains between the lights and the windshield. Here are a couple of examples:

@SpikerEng Howdy, brother! I purchased a set of these from you earlier in the week and you had these to me in GA in just a few days. Thanks for the fast ship! Now on to my question: I don’t have ditch lights yet but will likely go for a set of BD Squadrons on a low profile mount, likely Cali Raised. With that in mind I know the range is 0-8” beyond the stock rod provided height. Is there a max height/distance you would recommend to ensure the ditch lights clear the windshield once mounted. I’d rather be safe than sorry.

Congrats on picking up distribution on Amazon! Hopefully the additional customer reach you pick up will more than offset the hit to your margin. Absolutely incredible product! Great build and design - US engineered and built and it shows!

I have a 1999 land cruiser as well as my Tacoma. I’m on my third set of hood struts. Do you make them for land cruisers?

Just a plug, After a series of rigs with hood props, The Spiker lifts are a treat. Now I tend to forget there was the other way ;-)

Thinking of buying the Spiker struts, but don't have a rivet gun, any recommendations?

Thank you for the kind words .

As for the ditch lights. "better safe than sorry" rule definitely applies, and the safest approach would be to have the ditch lights and mounting brackets on hand when setting up the hood height. That way you'll know that you'll have the needed clearance. Or you can look around to see if someone has the combo you want, and ask them how much higher then can raise the hood. Finally, you can always relocate the hood brackets if you end up needing to change the hood height. Having said all that, some low profile ditch lights out there allow the full 8" above stock height.

Sorry, we don't make replacement struts. You can pick up some Strongarm 4361 struts (I believe that's right for the LC100).

You can add a basic rivet gun for ~$15 to your Amazon order :). Or you can use rivnuts and screws instead of rivets.
