Rust reformer for primer prior to black coating on the mud flap mounts. Painting a lot of other shit as well. The HOA people are probably furious. Uppity... They don’t like my paint and body shop with Morgan Wallen blasting in the background. High Life and a Marlboro in my mouth. No respirator. Got some looks from the pool party attendees across the street. America is my only response...D2AD7334-776E-4802-B25C-A18E57FA9AFC.jpg

And even being in the blazing sun beats the heck out of doing this work in the snow and mud! Apart from making it a bit more difficult to lift and support the vehicle since the ground is not perfectly even, I have no complaints. Any warm day here is a great day given that winter is usually 9 months long!

Good job that looks great. I just did the same thing but I used rust bullet before black topcoat.

Gave the old girl the winter off from the salt and took all fender liners and flares off and cleaned things up.

You sir seem to be a man of vision. Yearly cleanings of “the salt”. Kudos to you and may the ‘01 outlive us all. Structure and discipline is what it’s all about. I also give a bow to rocking the regular cab. Not many of us left in This world.

Thanks! I ditched the old ones and ran around debadged for a little while. I had 2nd gen badges I had painted black and attached 3m tape to (I debadged my 06 a long time ago). I went to put them on and they were crooked so I tossed them. Then I got these REALLY cheap and figured why not?

Loving the umbrella solution. I don't know if I want to do another awning on this truck either, I didn't use em on my last two vehicles as much as I thought, plus they're just more weight. I saw this one Expo a while ago, but have lacked the motivation to dive in yet. Umbrella might be the way to roll...just need a mount.

You could always grab an inexpensive sun shade sail from Amazon and roll it up and toss into the truck when done.

What’s the good rear diff protection for our trucks? I’m feeling like I need to do something for it

messed around with my clutch master cylinder today (sorry no pics, wasn't all that exciting:(). I had issues getting the truck into gear when my truck was at a stop which i assumed was due to the clutch not disengaging all the way. problem seems to be solved, or at least a lot better, but now my clutch actually feels like a truck clutch:p. much more similar to my boss's 1 ton work truck than a car (it was the opposite before). not a huge fan of the new clutch feel, but at least it shifts better now. I might mess around with it a bit more when I replace my slave cylinder and the tranny oil. i backed it off a bunch of turns on the rod to take the slack out and get more pressure in the system, so i think i'll try threading it back a couple turns and see where that puts me. any suggestions are welcome tho:notsure:.

I think the best is cutting off the drain plug and just welding some plate to the bottom.

I'm not a fan of the diff diapers that cut into precious ground clearance at the lowest place already, plus not sure anyone makes one for a 1st gen at this point.

Love my diaper. But like you said, aint nobody making them anymore unless you hit up a fab shop. I got mine front RAT. Actually, all my under armor is from RAT minus the BAMF skids. 1/4 inch steel aint really that big of a sacrifice for ground clearance. It just slides right over boulders

I was looking at the marlin one potentially
    https://www.marlincrawler.com/armor/axles/full-face-differential-armor

if I shave it, I have to open the diff to drain and re seal everytime?
