There's way more aftermarket support for older Jeeps then Yota's. The easiest thing to build if you want to run 40's is probably an XJ. They're cheap as hell. There are lots of them. Very easy to swap an LS motor into. More bolt on support then you can imagine.

I had an XJ on 35s. Unibody.....never again.

Best bang for the buck I think would be a worn out YJ. Chevy v8 swap, 4:1 tcase, 1 tons, lockers, and 37s.

Frame stiffeners. I don't really have a problem with a unibody as that weakness is easy to fix. Having a plug and play LS swap kit? Priceless. lol

Xj has the same drive drivetrain as the YJ unless it's a real old XJ with the puegot trans. YJ has a bigger engine bay too

Wranglers look cooler anyways than the mom wagons lol

Exactly. You want a rig that has the motor you want, frame height you want, tire size you want, anti-dive and anti-squat that you want, travel that you want, articulation that you want then there is only one choice. Tube buggy.

Yep. That extra $30K is one of the reasons I haven't started building one yet. The other big reason is my shitty welding skills. lol

I am doing from west to East coast walk this year
Next year I’m planning on the Appalachian trail from top to bottom
Then the PCT from Mexico to Canada
And then I’m flat out skipping the central trail in the middle of the US

When you do the PCT there's a less traveled alternative to the JMT through most of the Sierra. If you like solitude in the mountains I can't recommend it enough. It combines the Southern Sierra High Route with the classic Sierra High Route. It makes logistics a little harder but if you decide it's for you I'll hike in a restock for you at Dusy Basin.

I think what you’re missing here is those Fidelity funds are each geared have 10+ percent locked up in cash and bonds within the fund. You don’t get to then decide to use that cash to buy more stock it stays cash/bonds always. Even worse is that if your stocks go up a lot your fund then becomes out of balance and defund manager has to sell stock to buy more cash and bonds to stay at that. 10%

Olukai Ohana. By far the best flops on the market. I hike in my flops and they have lasted 5 years. Last Friday I finally had to order another pair from them. 5 years of heavy use for a flip flop is unheard of. I have killed Chaco's in a season, Reef in a season, Teva's in one hike. About 12 years ago I picked up a pair of Teva's from REI. I hiked the Bugaboo's in them. That 8 miles of hiking literally destroyed them. These Olukai's have 100's of miles on them. The only reason I need a new pair is I finally wore through the top pad. Other then that they are still functional. lol
