Finally got my wall done, what a pain in the ass! And yes I placed every single block myself as well and built the footing. Came out pretty good.
Problem is I was supposed to be building a deck there however the current lumber prices are fawking insane!!! Hope they come down sooner than later...
Anyway back to work on trucks for the day, have a great day guys!!

Hope you all had a great Memorial day! Thanks to those that paid the ultimate price for what they have done, I will be ever thankful to our military past and present.

Family and I are fying to San Diego next month. Taking the kids (13 and 6) to Legoland and Zoo. Want to go to the beach also. Coming from Texas any California beach will be a lot better than what we have.
Any suggestions on which beach area to go to? Good parking and not too crowded would be awesome. I won’t have my taco, I’ll be driving a mini van rental:anonymous:

Lots of our beaches have waves for boogie boarding, but if you’re looking for milder places , Little Corona is good for small kids in Orange County. Aliso, Huntington Beach, and Newport have better waves. I was trying to find a cove we used to go to with the little ones and they have it in the article here- it’s now called “Pirates Cove”:

Here’s others in San Diego County:

Be prepared to walk from your parking spot! With everyone getting vaccinations now there are a lot of people back in the good places again.

What area are you staying in? There are plenty of nice beaches all over the place, very few have good parking, many will be very crowded cause of other people with the same idea as you.

    About to look up some
Airbnb tonight. So open to ideas. We are thinking of getting an Airbnb that’s close to the beach if needed

Appreciate that. We are actually going to visit my cousins in Los Angeles first so we might hit up a beach or two up there before we go to SD

You're right in Carlsbad with Legoland, drop down the hill to the beach. Check the tide tables, the south end of Carlsbad beach is a great walk at low tide with all the tidal pools.

You really can’t go wrong but Leucadia would be my pick based on what you’ve mentioned.

Make sure to take them to La Jolla Cove to see the sea lions.

I go every month or two just to watch them.

(for the locals- yes, the construction is done now)

Del Mar is a nice half way point between legoland and the zoo, about 20 minutes each way. The beaches around there also tend to have a more pleasant crowd compared to pb and ob
