That carrier is weird too. Looks like you have a lot of spacers on there? I’d say get the current one lengthened. Here’s what mine looks like.

Mine had Milwaukee stuff, but the batteries are starting to shit the bed(15yrs old or older). I like the fact Ryobi has pledged to stay with the 18v so you don't have to keep upgrading. I've got a few of the brushless tools and they have been great. They also have 225+ tools that use the 18v platform. Plus, I figured since I already have Ryobi stuff, if he gets something I need...…..it keeps me from having to buy

Yea my uncle gave him a makita impact tool one time so I’ve just gave him tools since, I’ve always had makita that’s what the industrial store I worked at always sold they’ve always been good to me. I talked my mom into buying ryobi cause she always needed a drill, since then she got a weed eater pool float inflator and a fan the other day lol. Also a sick power sprayer I forgot about.

His Milwaukee lasted for a long time. I just figured since I'm "upgrading" him, might as well get the same ones I have. I'm pretty sure all the battery tools are made in the same factory anyway

I do think I may grab the 18v chainsaw just as a "trail" tool. It's just a 10", so not a real one, but might do a few jobs.

You’d get laughed off a job site using what I use. My uncle gave me a full set of craftsman C3 19V and those things have been bulletproof going on 8 years now. They’ve been submerged, dropped in concrete/thinset, dropped, used as hammers and still run strong. The impact has seen an insane amount of use. One full house remodel basement to roof, tons of side projects, office remodel, and now into a second house. Only the batteries and one sawsall have been replaced. I can’t possibly ask for any more out of a tool.

The new Milwaukee stuff is pretty hard to beat. Expensive, but worth it.
