Well so far about half highway driving (speeds over 70) and stop and go traffic my mileage is up about 1 mpg on average so far. I’ll post back once I get more miles on it as well.

Safe octane #s have been addressed already. Not a good idea running 87 with that tune.

I tested the Premium octane tune on regular octane gas. I ran a full tank of gas. I only got pinging/knocking at high load, like when I gave it the gas while cruising at a low rpm. Until it downshifts, there is pinging.
The premium tune does have octane learning, but will not adjust down to 87 octane. According to OVtune, it will learn/adjust down to around 90 octane.
I would not run regular octane on the premium tune for too long.

I’m using 91 octane on the regular tune. I take it that’s ok?

    Good morning!

Just acquired a 2018 TRD OR DCSB in Cement. Anyone in the Rio Grande Valley (South, South Texas) doing tunes?

I'll be in the San Antonio/Austin area on Friday and Leander all day Saturday. Coming back home on Sunday.

I flashed the KDMax 6.0 91 tune about a week or so ago and it has made all the difference in the world. Only odd behavior I have noticed is lightly accelerating in 3rd and 4th gear, between 1500-2000RPM, it feels like the torque converter is either slipping or unlocking. The RPMs seem to rise but from about 1600 to 2000 with no acceleration. 1st and 2nd gear are solid though. Any thoughts?

Never heard that before. Try a reset and reflash and let me know by PM. Might just need more time to settle/learn.
You could also try one of the other files, like a regular octane or different throttle file, just to make sure.
    Let me know.

Thank you for the quick response. I’m going to start with clearing everything and reflashing as suggested. Also going to check the transmission fluid level just in case as I’ve heard of low fluid levels from the factory. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Late review (been running Reg LT for several weeks now)

@PapaRee this tune is amazing. This taco is shifting almost as smoothly as my old man's diesel X5. The acceleration is butter and no more lurching at 3500 rpm. I appreciate what the ECT button does so much more now. I have so much fun driving this thing now. The fact that new tacos are driving off the lots WITHOUT this tune is a crime (moment of silence for taco owners not on this tune).

    Thank you

P.S - I got a flash kit and want to flash the SLT premium tune but I have version 1.2.9.9.5, I'm hearing there is a new version. Will I need to update before I can retune ?

Yes, you will have to update. The old software will not communicate with the server.
