The most obvious thing here is to ditch the rubber bed mat.

My truck states 990lbs as my limit, and for a daily basis I have:

Roof rack +60lbs
Running boards +100lbs
nonsense behind/under seats +20lbs
My lanky self +165lbs

 

the bed mat stays.

i have a cooler that's the PERFECT size for it to fit under the tonneau cover to the point i dont need to strap it down

 

Strap it down?? Fill that cooler with some drinks and it would be heavy enough to act as a winch anchor

Go on a diet. Get to the same weight as Manuel Ferrara in his prime, and you can add a rear plate bumper without affecting weight capacity. It also improves weight distribution and lowers center of gravity.

 

I’m certainly changin’ the rear bumper. Could use a bit more weight especially in Winter but yeah, let’s not forget it’s not a full size Truck by any means.

 

You forgot about the extra weight of bigger tires, the extra weight of mud in the frame, extra weight of more leaf springs, toggle switches more wiring for lights, more lights, dirt inside the cab, dirt in ur air filters, etc… should i keep going?
