Or sufficiently punish thieves. If caught cut off a thumb. Caught again cut off the other. Caught a third time, they can’t learn. Execute them

What is cruel or unusual depends on your personal opinion and frame of reference. Most folks today get upset killing vermin. Heaven forbid they actually need violence to survive.

Yep, but the Bill of Rights does protect that. And my ability to speak of it.

Pesky thing sometimes that document. Especially when you disagree with it.

Nothing like cranky old people talking about how great the precepts of Sharia Law are to show you how insane they are.

While a variety of different solutions can be found to life's problems, intentional cruelty should never be one of them.

I say NO! to sharia law, but buyers of stolen goods should be punished too. Nothing drastic, maybe if you are found in possession of stolen goods you forfeit anything you paid for them and they are returned to the owner. If the owner can't be found they are sold at public auction. Around here that would put 99% of the fences, err pawn shops, right out of business. It would also hurt the metal recycling fences buying catalytic converters from meth addicts.

Yep cranky and old, but a realist. Just a bit more life experience that most snowflakes.
