Did they even brake like a "oh shit" at the end brake? Probably was way faster than 40 then. I usually drive above the speed limit but ive never hit anyone so....

There are no skid marks at all. It was my fault though, I turned left on an amber flashing signal and got distracted by another truck already making a right turn into the road I was going to and never saw the van.

The current estimate is 25k damage, the adjuster based that on photos alone. So I’m fairly confident this truck is never driving again. I honestly don’t want it to, I don’t think it would ever be correct.

That adjuster is terrible. Way way over 25k in damage. Should have just totaled it right away. Theres frame damage, all 4 doors are shot, 3 of the 4 quarter panels are done, 3 airbags blown at least, and the front passengers suspension/ rear has damage too. Dont let them lowball you on the value of the truck. You should be able to buy a brand new one with the settlement.

It was just updated to 35k. The original estimate was just from photos. They went and physically assessed it today. Frame is bent, trans and t case broke, rear axle bent. Engine oil from somewhere. Basically building an entire truck. She’s done.

Well, that about settles it lol. I hope someone doesn’t pay much for it. Nothing really useable except the engine.

I was offered 40k. But the adjuster didn’t include the aftermarket parts I specifically made sure got insured when I installed them and provided receipts. So right now I’m fighting them to contact Geico and get the proof. I’m not sure why they can’t see it in whatever systems they use.

40k seems more fair. How much money in parts did you have? Plus most insurances cover a certain dollar amount of aftermarket parts automatically.

Big yikes. Glad you came out alright. As bad as it is, I'd good to see how these trucks take impacts like that. Makes me feel good about my choice in vehicle.

I also noticed they used an SR5 as a comp. On Autotrader. This is getting ridiculous.

Maybe where you are. They’re 50+ used here. I can’t even buy another one.

You should be an insurance adjuster lol, it’s not about what you think it’s worth. It’s the fair market value. IE, what I would have reasonably expected to get from selling it. I don’t control the current market value.

Also, you live in PA. Huge difference.
