    Hey folks,

How long has Toyota used Barcelona red in it's current formula? I know sometimes manufacturers use the same name but change how it looks...I mean how long has it been around and looked the same? Also, what other models has Toyota used it on?

    Thank you,

    Brett

good question, my moms 09 Camry was Barcelona Red. That is why I didnt buy one in 19 that was that color, it was dull, even when waxed and just didnt pop. But my neighbors T4R is new and Barcelona Red, but it looks awesome on that rig. I have a hard time believing they are the exact same formula, it really pops on the neighbors T4R.

I wonder if they use a shinier clear coat to make it pop.

theres different variants.. same color but prob 5 variants
    yellower.
    bluer.
    more vivid.
    darker.

i paint for a living and toyota has the most variants out of all the manufacters
problem with reds are over the yrs they get yellowy, orangie, and dull down faster then most colors
and red is the most expensive pigment, beside the mid coat on a pearl paint job

its used on camry, corrola, prius, taco's, im sure theres more but thats off the top of my head
and its such a pain to match its not even funny .. i dread painting it lol

Thank you, Robert. I appreciate that you paint for a living, and noticed you had Army Green. How is Army Green to match btw? Also, is yours single stage or bccc? I read in some of the forums that AG and SW are single stage but wondered how much truth there is to it.
