My wife has made more than me for 30 years. Thankfully

 

The last two weeks we’ve gotten some rain and I’m having to mow every 5-6 days now. Front yard looks great…..as long as it gets some rain

 

Can’t go wrong paperin’ the Walls. Especially when it’s somethin’ in high demand.

 

I'd take an extra $50k, hopefully net lmao My wife is not the bread winner. I wouldn't mind if she was, I'd be a stay at home house-husband

I make ~$80k or more depending on OT.

 

I'm reallllll close to getting a yard robot. I hate mowing with a passion.........

 

I could make more going somewhere else but I like where I’m at and the freedom to do what I do. I learned a long time ago if you’re not happy at your job, you aren’t happy anywhere.

 

I don’t mind mowing, especially now that our son can weedeat

 

That's true, if we weren't hurting for money with all our medical crap, I'd consider taking a pay cut to work in a shop I'd actually get to be more than a glorified button pusher and actually get to do some g-jobs on my own time.

 

The last two times I mowed I said screw it by the time I was done on weedeating. Last time though I ran the chainsaw for an hour getting rid of trees overhanging our yard from the neighbors.
Got a nice little brush pile going now.... Oughtta finish cutting it all down into logs and load it up for a bonfire at my buddy's house.

 

I don’t know many machine shops that would let me bring this work on occasion

I remember going to work with my dad when I was a kid. Wouldn’t trade it for anything. He was a mechanic on his days off from the fire department and farmed when he wasn’t doing either of those.

 

A young man who not only knows how to make/fix/repair/build/fabricate, but likes to do it? He's going to be a unicorn unto himself in a few years!

 

He absolutely loves it. He's working on building his client base whatever that means and loves every minute of it. Thanks for asking!

 

I’d love to see him become a machinist but right now he wants to start his own grading business. He’s 9 and my wife and I told him we’ll support him in whatever he chooses to do

We had a customer come in the shop before I left wanting a piece of material. He ask for my tape measure I carry on my pocket and with his free hand, he reached up and stuck the end of it in his mouth and pulled it out a few inches

I said just lay it on the work bench when you get done
