How long did you have to wait for your 2021 factory order?

Two and a half weeks is nothing.

From what I understand, unless you "ordered" a vehicle that the dealer already has allocated then you need to wait for the dealer to receive another allocation that they can use to fulfill your order. I believe that dealers recieve this information once a month. My dealer told me the 20th of each month is the day they get this information. I'm in Canada however so it may be different.

Regardless... Hang on...you could be in for a long ride. I'm at 15 and a half weeks with no positive news yet.

 

@DingleTower still don't know if allocation was accepted by Toyota?! Damn man. What are the specs of your truck?

 

Let me also say, got build date one week after allocation. Use the spreadsheet on this forum and search your truck and check it daily and start making calls is my recommendation. It is what I would have done in hindsight.

 

Yeah, I've figured out from reading others' experiences that two and a half weeks isn't very long, and the dealer told me to expect 3-4 weeks. But at some point we have to be worried that Toyota will stop building the 2021s when they move to the 2022s, don't we?

 

I've now had two dealers tell me they will only sell to local customers. I guess I'm taking my chances with my order.

 

With my specs looks like I'll be receiving mine around September and I ordered in March. Luckily price locked in. Some have said after a certain point they change the truck to a 2022 model if you originally ordered a 2021.

6 months is really not a problem for me in this situation, I've never been one to get upset when all factors are out of any legitimate control. In my situation the down-payment just keeps growing. Unless you buy used, it's gonna be a big wait until September IMO (4Q).

 

My truck was allocated 4/6, built 5/20.... dealer just texted me today saying that delivery time has changed from 7/5-7/12. Now the stimated date is 7/20-7/27... ugh soooo hard being patient.

Ouch. I did so a month after you and still no build date.

 

None here yet either. I was a couple weeks after you. My dealer is still saying I should have it either this week or the end of the month though. We’ll see. ‍

 

I ordered mine early October and got my truck on March 31st.

 

Emailed internet sales manager initially and he emailed back saying he'd check into it and then never got back in touch. I called a week after that and spoke with my salesman and he was clearly distracted or intentionally vague and was like nailing jello to a wall to get him to give a definitive answer on where the allocation had been accepted yet or not. From the moment I walked in the door and every time I've spoken to anyone I've made it clear that I understand this is a long process and I'm prepared to wait. But for goodness sake, just be forthcoming.

Figured a wait two weeks post that last call or early next month (once they know their June allocations) and call the sales manager.

 

Tacoma 2021's, is it to late too order one?
I've heard both yes and no, any info would be appreciated!!
