How long did you have to wait for your 2021 factory order?

180 days from date of order, finally took delivery today of my AC Sport MT. Had the price locked in when I ordered it. Dealership team were very easy to work with, none of that markup bs. Have been jealous of folks who've only had to wait a couple months.

 

That's awesome! Congrats! Hopefully the wait is worth it!! The price lock is great as well... that's the part I'm worried about the most. Hoping I'll be able to talk them down a little from the pricing they gave me once it shows up but not holding my breath lol.

Wait was excruciating. Sold my car a month ago for more than I could have gotten on trade in, but no wheels for a month.

Won't know until you try. That's the downside in the current market, can't be too aggressive because they know it can be sold. My sales rep told me they are shipping trucks they get without an order to other dealership and charging them MSRP, so you know the receiving dealership is going to charge more.

 

Just got a call from the dealer tonight that my Tacoma is has a new ETA of June 23rd. Thought I just read yours was slipping to later July??

 

Yeah, I'm just gonna hope for the best. I sold my truck to my brother but luckily I'm able to still drive it till my truck arrives... I'm hoping it shows up sooner than later!

 

Yes, I'm now being told mid-late July. Sounds like it's sitting at port.. not sure where that is or why that is...

 

Silly question, my truck was built, in Baja California on 5/18. Original delivery was 6/8 - 6/13, my dealer texted me with a screenshot of my delivery pushed back a week to 6/13 - 6/18. He told me a week or so that it was being pushed back to this week. I haven't heard anything, except about my possible trade in, so, is that a good sign that it will be here this week?

 

Did you do anything to formally lock in the price when you ordered it? My dealership said they wouldn't mark it up, either, but I don't have that in writing. They've been great to work with, but I'm wondering if I should get something in writing.

 

It certainly doesn't hurt to have something in writing. Never trust a dealer. Even if you think you can trust them.

A reasonable dealer should have no issues giving you a full cost breakdown. Not many are reasonable though.

I locked in my below MSRP quote on a Pro with a total cost breakdown and out-the-door pricing with my specific build.

 

When I gave my deposit, I signed a document that locked me in at MSRP. At first I was upset, but hearing about the mark up I was happy I signed it. The salesman gave me a copy for my records

 

Just found out from my salesman that it's been delayed one more week, now from 6/19 - 6/24. Says not sure what the delay is. I guess it's a transportation issue.

 

Looks like I am picking it up tonight. Apparently it was ready, but nobody called me even though they said they would. Funny that I always have to call them for an update... Do you not want my money??

 

I emailed the sales manager to confirm that they wouldn't add a market adjustment, and she confirmed that they would not add anything to the MSRP. I really do like this dealer...they've been great to work with, especially considering the other crappy dealers I've contacted over the past few weeks. I feel comfortable not asking them to sign anything.

New here, read most of the thread. I put a down payment on a PRO MT on 4/14 and still no word on an allocation. When I originally discussed with dealer I was told 2-3 months which is fine as I am in no rush and I know its kind of a unicorn. I realize now that is completely wrong. Anybody have any idea what a realistic timeline is for me. I'm in the southeast region.

 

Where is "port" if your truck is being delivered to northwest?

 

Boom! My guy just sent me an email. Lunar Rock MT Pro allocation is accepted. Will likely be delivered here to Manitoba in mid-September. Ordered 2/18. So it'll be around 7 months from deposit to delivery.

I was about to email and see if there is a build date but I figure that will just make the wait longer if I know it's built and just sitting in a lot, or on a train or boat somewhere.

Just glad I'll have a new truck by winter.

 

Mine was built in Baja, came into San Diego, next update I got was Bend, OR. They just bumped mine up. They were saying 21st to 28th of June, today I was told 18th to 21st. Toyota of Tacoma is my dealer.

 

Maybe there's hope Ill get a phone call tomorrow....

 

With no word of an allocation — which is up to Toyota and not your dealer, you have no timeline at all. The dealer has to have the truck allocated to it. After that you are in the market. Without an allocation, you have nothing but a hope.
