What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

So I’ve been working with my buddy (who happens to be a certified auto electrical dude) to come up with a cleaner/safer/more reliable solution for the rats nest of wires behind my switch panel.

He built a custom micro switch board and encased it in epoxy resin with clean single power, ground, and switched power lines.

Super stoked over the progress. Total cost has been about $20 (as in twenty ).

Of all the Toyota TRD wheels, those are my favorite. Looks awesome.

 

Where did you get the Missile Launcher switch? I need to grab one of those - that's an old Army LANCE missile launcher. I commanded a LANCE firing battery at Fort Sill, OK in the early '80s.

 

LMAO... that's what we used to call it when the weather was so bad, you'd drive on the reflectors to let you know where the lane ended - driving by brail. Yeah - Stevie Wonder loves the OEM lights. I went with the bulb upgrades thanks to all the research done by @crashnburn80 and all the others. Blinded me with science. Pretty good improvement for less than $30. That's such a douche move on Toyota's part - $400 from the factory but 3 times that at the parts counter? Hope you can get that worked out - thanks for the info!

Here's what a launch looked like - this was my battery's live shot at White Sands New Mexico in 1984. The system could be configured with a nuclear on non-nuclear warhead. This was an inert nuc warhead.

That was a good deal! Just 4 months later I paid $6k more than that for almost the same options.

 

The only missles I launched were fur missles. Lol

 

Installed Total Chaos bed stiffeners. I don’t need them yet, but just future planning. Plus, the tie down points are great! Easy install. Used locktite and recommend using a step drill bit; that way the bit won’t jump around and it gives a way cleaner hole. Used a deburring tool and painted all exposed metal.


I cut the bed mat to fit around them, because my OCD would go crazy seeing that mat flipped up in the corners.

Next, I’ll have to get all black bolts to match!

Got the fuel pump recall and 30K service done. Took about 6 hours. Next up getting a tune! I'm organizing a group buy for NorCal / Bay Area for the CVC or KDMax tune. Check out the thread if you're in the area!

Installed this aluminum ARB rack. I used the Sherpa adjustable mounting feet and had to drill holes in the rack to line up the feet. ARB told me not to install their racks on a camper shell. I’m hoping that’s due to liability and not some fatal flaw….

 

Got my Firestone bags in and Toyo Open Country's put on. The bags made a night and day difference with the Decked system in the back. Really firmed up the rear. Next will be Bilstein 5100's most likely.

 

Thanks, that is a DENY lock for my yeti cooler. Safer than a cable lock. Has a breakaway bolt on the bottom.

Installed the @MESO Customs V2 Dual Color Ultimate LED Dome Light. Pop off the cover and remove the OEM bulb, pop the connector into the bulb socket and snap the lights in to the slots for the OEM cover. Now I’m just waiting for the Dual Color Map Lights to be released.









I also made a trip with the trailer - picked up my Zero Turn that was getting new blades and dropped off the Garden Tractor to have it serviced. Really loving the trailer.

 

Has anyone mounted a decent sized cooler that fits under a MX4 cover?
