I've gotten around 22 going 55ish, this includes prinsu rack, awning, RTT on back, small lift and slightly bigger tires. I'll take it.

Going all uphill with the bed fully loaded?
    Going all downhill in neutral?

We should have a competition for the worst and best mpg. I think this two are the winner lol.

That was back when I was still Stock, just before the tunes. It was a trip from Satsop, WA to home doing about 65 with some heavy traffic in a couple spots.

No idea how you all are lucky enough to get those MPG. I have tried driving like a grandpa and the best I have ever got on a tank was 18.6 and that’s average of 60MPH for 2.5 hour trip in Ohio (mostly flat). My truck only has 1,600 miles, maybe it will get better?

There is some odd variabilities between Tacos. Add in different owners and the variables go through the roof.

Yeah, though. You're early. Give it until about 10k for the MPGs to settle out.

The BEST ill get is 17 MPG. Bigger tires, 2.5 inch lift, an extra 700 LBs, and a lead foot will do that.

Believe you need to be at least 2.5 miles high to make it fair...

I drive a lot of secondary highways, with not much actual city driving. Speeds vary from 35-60 mph. We have roads with a lot hills and flats. If i drive on the major interstate highways between 75-85 mph the truck sucks more gas getting around 20 mpg. Got 10k miles now on my 2020 and fuel economy rally hasn't improved from when it had 0 miles. Seems the truck develops more power now being in the correct gear when the road calls for it.

I highly doubt you can save gas with the PC, it will actually be the opposite.

Me neither. But it does depend on the vehicle. My Tacoma is old enough that hand calculating is the only option. But I also have a 2014 F150. In the 6 years I've owned that truck virtually every time I check it manually it has been within 1/2 mpg compared to the trucks computer. Usually only off .2 or .3 mpg and while it is optimistic most of the time I've had a few times where I was a little better with the hand calculations. I can't recall a time when it was off by more than 1 full mpg. I used to double check every tank, but it has been consistent enough that I now trust the computer. I still do it by hand occasionally just to verify. If I'm within 1/2 mpg that is close enough. 1/2 mpg will get you 5-10 miles farther down the road in most vehicles.

We used to have a Honda Fit. That car was always optimistic and usually off by 3-4 mpg. We sold it to buy a Ford Explorer which so far has consistently been 2 mpg optimistic.

I think a lot of these guys claiming 25 mpg might be surprised if they started doing hand calculations. And FWIW, I've gotten anywhere between 4 mpg to 40 mpg over short distances with my F150 depending on conditions. If you haven't driven at least 200-250 miles and hand calculated the numbers then it doesn't prove much.

Doesn't the science say that 55mph is optimal for an internal combustion engine? If I run my Taco at 50 -55 mph on two lane back roads I can average around 20 -22 mpg. I get on the inner state and set the cruise control at 75 and my MPG drops to about 17-18 mpg.
