I have the crossbar rack already on my 2019. For those with the same rack, do you transport your kayak right on top of crossbars and tie down? Or do you get attachments and affix to the crossbars? Post pics if you can.

There are little foam blocks that are universal for roof racks. They act as a cushion for the kayak so they don't get damaged.186 (700 X 540) #5.jpg

Pelican i bought at costco a few weeks ago came with them. I just throw the kayaks in the bed with tailgate down and bungee them in using the d rings. Easy peasy

I use the j-hooks. Easy to just toss the boat in there, put a strap on each one, and you’re ready to go. They are pretty inexpensive as well...

I have two 12 footers that run the length of the truck from cab to topper via prinsu racks, stack the two on top of one another then strap down accordingly. I apologize for not having any images to share.

I was thinking of mentioning that here, but I thought that I'd at least wait on Shots for the 'Gram first?

Test drive tomorrow! Friggin' stoked. 2yrs of pent up big boat excitement. :rocket:

I bought an old used jet ski trailer off of Craigslist for cheap and use that for my fishing kayak. My boat is a heavy duty fishing yak and thus is kind of on the heavy side! It is so much easier to slide it on / off the trailer when I get to the water. But I could not imagine trying to lift that thing up on top of a roof rack all by myself.

PS: sometimes when I am in a hurry and fishing close to my cabin, I just throw it into the back of the truck with the tailgate down and strap it down. But otherwise I use my little trailer!

It appears you have the Toyota rack that I do. What attachments do you have and do you have set up for 2 kayaks?

Thanks but I'm looking to put 2 kayaks on top of cab and looking for suggestions on attachments to go on standard Toyota rack.

Yakima JayLow are highly recommended. Pictured are mine with bed bars but the work with nearly everything. I originally used them with Yakima bars on the roof of my 2013.

Just the oem rack, Yakima j hooks for the kayak and just strap the SUP’s down straight onto the crossbar. Two kayaks would fit great but I only have 1.

I like those. Better than Yakima JayHook? If so why? JayLow is more expensive.

I worked it out with an old rack I had on my Pathfinder. Works fine for now but will probably get Yakima JayHook or JayLow. As far as hanging over the front, I can't even see the front tips of the kayaks when I'm driving believe it or not. All good.
