I’m looking at Midland radios and a cold air intake for my next mods.

my old man is building me a 2 gallon tank for my arb and I’ll be installing that this weekend.

 

havent heard of them. i only knew of vF but then again i wasnt on here much for like 6 months. then i think mango or you? told me about KD which i think i will go with once i get home.

 

I had someone do it. $350 to have it flashed with KDMax. Included the credits and I didn’t have to do anything

 

I’ve got a cable so I think I can do other people’s tunes if you have the license and credits.

 

i have already talked with subarutacoma i think and hes going to hook me up when i get back. i just need to buy the stuff then he said he can walk me thru everything over skype or something for a fee. which i wouldnt mind since no one else is in the area to do it and i might be able to make some money off of it.

 

I’ve known of mat for a long time. He got his start back in 2011 or whatever when we were on a mazda3 forum. He tried to boost his 2.5, failed, got banned, then tried to fuck with the speed3 crowd and got shunned. Then he started tuning speed3s and blew some up. Claimed he could make more power than anyone by using injector phasing (not a real thing)

then he moved onto skyactiv mazda3s and Miatas. Took on way more than he could handle. Got banned from there for that and constantly arguing.

now he’s here and the cycle repeated. Always arguing and taking on way more than he can handle

 

There’s another southern AZ guy that does it and I don’t want to step on his toes but I eventually want to make my own tunes and help him out with overflow if the demand is there.

I don’t want to offer custom tunes, just install the ones that won’t blow up trucks.

 

ill be doing which ever people want. just buy the tune and ill do it. theres a few guys on the bases around i know that would prob want it. and i wouldnt worry about stepping on toes. you may be closer to people then he is

 

Flashing the tunes is easy.

The part that takes work is coming up with your own tune. KD is locked so you can’t do anything to it besides flash it. I think OVs is open and can be tweaked as you like.

 

I think for other people you need to have VF Pro or whatever it’s called

 

ya but theres some guys around i know that dont want to learn or get the gear. i dont mind buying th cable and such. plus i need to figure out the TSB stuff for the ECU.

 

I know my rig isn’t the same as others and I have some routine long drives I would like to tune for so maybe I’ll try KD and switch to OV when I figure out what I need to tweak.

There's actually a guy in Birmingham(he's a KDMax vendor thing) that is working on a 2nd gen tune.

thats not bad. i need to do some research up on it. seems like some people have been able to tune others with the base kit. just need to unlock the ECU?? luckily i still have time to read up on everything before i come home
