We desert rats have to scurry everywhere so we don’t die in the sun. I’m thinking of dumping my backseat (and passenger if the girl pisses me off) to get more zip.

 

I always found it funny that we typically have a slower lifestyle down here.....but invented NASCAR

Slow cooked meat and fast booze. That's a pretty honorable combo.

 

I never got into NASCAR, but I loved watching AMA and Moto GP

 

I can watch F1, rally, 24 hrs of le mans... NASCAR isn't too exciting for me. I've seen races here in phoenix from the grand stand, luxury suites and pits... Grand Stands were the most fun.

 

I bet a F1 race in person would be insane.

 

im getting ready to buy tickets to the Daytona 400 in Aug since my dads coming out. I went to the 500 this year and it was pretty neat.

sounds right. engines run better with colder air. its just sometimes you wont see a notice so people dont think it works.

 

My mazdapseed3 ran too well in cold weather. Had to back off wastegate duty cycle so it didn’t overboost, and injector duty cycle still got too high for comfort.

It’s really all about air density (or density altitude) kinda funny when it’s 50* in flagstaff at 8k feet altitude but 100* in Phoenix. Car is wayyyyy faster in Phoenix despite being warmer because the air is just so much denser 8000 feet lower

 

funny you have/had a speed3. i wanted one for so long and my brother ended up getting one. and a 6. he was big in the car scene esp on the east coast in the clubs and such.

 

More O2 down here. Plus warm fuel. I think that's what the pilot guy in that thread didn't get. When a plane's fuel is cold it isn't as explosive and at that altitude you have a lot less O2. Has less to do with temp and more with density (more O2 packed into volume).
