it started out as i was looking for a job to supplement my snowboarding addiction, then I really started to like working in a kitchen, so now i am going to school to run them.

I have been in Food Service for 38 years now. Started @ 15 as a dish washer.

My wife and I own a sushi bar and small plates restaurant. Ive been a sushi chef for 14 years now but prior and during that time Ive done all types of cuisine. Modern American, Itallion, French etc. I was planning on going into medicine/health and nutrition but I was always passionate about Cooking and restaurants. It allows me to be artist, a scientist an entrepeneur, a babysitter (dealing with staff),psychiatrist anything. It can be a headache but the return is great (emotionally with the bad economy restaurants have taken a big hit, they dont bring in the $ they use to) great customers and the freedom to be my own boss. Like everything out there for work it takes time and commitment. But ya gotta love it.
