It's a great way to ground without grinding away paint. The teeth of the vice grips bite through the paint and get to bare metal

Cleaned up and painted and ready for parts. Only welding I have left on this side is the resi mounts and limit strap but that’s not much. I should have this side done tomorrow.

So with the likelihood of being cleared for driving next week, I might need to come see you soon, but after you get that new coil spreader, to do the front spindle swaps (and likely smashy on pinch welds and adjust coilovers!!)...

@Dayman Karate took a bit of playing with different positions but I finally got it where the brake line is in a natural position and won’t interfere with the uca gusset. I had to clock the upper bracket that bolts to the frame 90°

At a good stopping point for today. Passenger side is 99% done. All I have left to do is swap the brake line and install the caliper/rotor.

Drivers side is torn down, welded and painted, all ready for the kit to be bolted on. Should be done tomorrow.

Oh man, that was so long ago. I’ve done so many sets since then so it’s a cake walk now. Already did the brake line on the drivers side.

I've been staring at the limit strap for 10 minutes trying to figure out what it was. It looks metal in the picture. I need sleep.

Literally never. Once I got the suspension stripped, I took the time to go at it with simple green and a brush and then gave it all a fresh coat of paint.

Oh and I’m going to make some one piece splash guards as well. Gonna hit up Home Depot and scour around for a suitable rubber sheet. I even bought a new set of king stickers for the resi so they would be the right orientation. I want this wheel well looking on point.

I have to do that too. Pond liner might be the best option. All the other stuff I have seen is THICC. I have some stuff from Amazon that I'm holding off on pulling the trigger on until I can get to HD and check out what they have.

Pretty pleased with this solution. I needed to get a new dust shield on the inner cv joint but it needed to be tapped in from all sides at once. 2.5” hole saw in a 4x4 and it worked like a charm.

I honestly do not know what you do for a living Randy, but you have missed your calling..... You should open up your own shop......but then again, that would take you away from the work you do on your own truck lol.

I appreciate the kind words. Funny enough, I do computer security for the government, so quite the opposite of this hands on stuff.
