I just got back from the dealership. I took my 2011 trd sport long bed for the frame inspection notice I received. Too my surprise they are going to replace the frame. Unfortunately the 2011 model doesn't include new rear leaf springs. Toyota said they would let me purchase aftermarket springs and they will install for 2 hundred dollars. The last time I bought aftermarket leaf springs for my previous tacoma they squeaked really bad. Any recommendations what springs I should purchase. Trying to stay close to stock. I do have a cap on the bed. Maybe something a little more heavy duty. I'm hoping there is a good aftermarket springs that don't squeak.
    Thanks for any assistance
    Jim

Why would they charge you labor to install springs that they'd otherwise have have to remove from the old frame and move onto the new frame regardless? Put another way; Why would they charge you for labor that they're already charging corporate Toyota for?

It's called "double billing" on "overlapping labor" and both are illegal to charge that, here in California at least. I'd call corporate Toyota and ask them directly, what all's going to be included in your specific frame replacement. 1-800-331-4331

To answer your question tough; if you want stock, buy stock springs. I've had zero issues with my Dakars, but going by the comments on this site I'm in the minority.

I'm guessing they want to charge me because they don't remove the u bolts and springs from the resr axle. I hope they don't try charging me for other extras

I would be happy to buy stock springs. Toyota wants a fortune. Over triple the price compared to aftermarket. I really don't want to install springs that are going to squeek

Check your springs if you have the three leafs (2 leafs and the thick overload) you are eligible for the recall.
If you have 4 leafs (3 leafs and the thick overload) which is what the recall gives you then you are SOL.
