    When it rains it pours.

Over the weekend, LX the Nakamichi factory stereo stopped working. I replaced the AMP with a known working unit thinking the original failed. Many people have replaced their factory Nakamichi head units. I expected to replace it someday. I just don't need to deal with it right now.

The LX HVAC controls have LED displays and lighted buttons. Those stopped working on Saturday. I had removed the bezel and the control unit to install a RAM mount ball. I was careful not to drop or bang it up. I guess just the act of moving it caused something inside it to come loose. All of the buttons, controls, and AC still works. It's just the lighting that failed.

I'm looking to replace the fancy Lexus controls with a unit from a similar year Land Cruiser that uses conventional-looking three rotary dials. This would be an upgrade to install LC controls since the Lexus controls start to have problems.

Now I need to pick out a double din head unit and go find a set of LC controls. I will need to find a black LC bezel to go with the controls since the LC wood doesn't look right in an LX.

    First-world problems I know.

Don't take it too personally, they probably just have good insurance.

Yeah it's the dragging thing that gets me, but I mean if you're gonna be stupid enough to try and steal someone's property you're assuming the risk that the person you're stealing from may just be even crazier than you are and end up dragging you across town by the hitch of their truck after shooting you twice.
