There's no question, its just a matter of time. The 4.6 was dropped and the tacoma was booted out. The next gen tundra is going to be Toyotas biggest move in a long time.

Isn’t the Tundra first up for a complete overhall? If so wouldn’t that push a overhall for the Tacoma to 1-3 years beyond that. I’m no expert but it always seems like Toyota takes a LONG gratifyingly shit before they get anywhere near the wiping process.

No money, all went to truck...
I think their reasoning is that if it's one of the best selling trucks, why change it? 2nd gen took forever to get redesigned and it was still selling like crazy in 2015. The Highlander didn't sell all that well and got several redesigns in a short amount of time.

Anyway, I think Toyota said 2024 is the redesign year for Tacomas.

The iforce max engine it pretty impressive. I can't imagine 400+ hp in a tacoma....

There is a reason why on the 3rd gen 3.5 you have one big oval exhaust port, packaging (and a few other reasons). Easy to bolt a turbo on directly to the head on both sides of the motor n call it good. Its been well known that toyota was going to do this for some time.

Also why is this in the 2nd gen section?

My wife Honda CRV has a tiny 1.5L turbo charged engine @190 HP. This is not far form my 2nd gen (yeah yeah torque) and with over double the MPG. About time Toyota starts to mainstream a turbo again. I could go for a 4 cylinder turbo engine in a tacoma.

Curious to see if this ends up being the rumored twin turbo V6 with electric motors.

Yeah that was confusing to me. "Hybrid" engine with turbos?

wait, there's a difference here that might be showing my ignorance...

Is it a hybrid ENGINE with a turbo?
Or is it a hybrid turbo on engine?

The second case it more reasonable?
