After years of having this quote in my signature, I figured I’d show everyone where I got it from…

    8B75FEC0-7D3E-401D-BD4C-A940C9033F4B.jpg

Christopher Moltisanti (played by Michael Imperioli) is one of my favorite characters from The Sopranos.
Moments before crashing his 2007 Cadillac Escalade in one of the final episodes of the series and being killed by Tony moments later, Chris is listening to a CD featuring songs from The Departed, specifically the new version of “Comfortably Numb” by Roger Waters and The Band; The Escalade has a Bose system, but it’s not enough for Chris, as he exclaims “This system’s got no balls!” while fiddling with the volume.

Tony is riding with him barks at him to watch the road and Chris ends up losing control of the Escalade and crashing. Chris was a high-ranking member of the Soprano crime family from Season 3 onward, becoming a made man in the 3rd episode; However, Chris struggled with drug and alcohol addiction from Season 1 and the by the middle of Season 4 has a full-blown heroin addiction; He is given an intervention and ultimately forced into rehab towards the end of Season 4. While he tries to stay sober, he relapses several times; He ultimately seals his own fate after the Escalade crash when he tells Tony that he’ll never pass a drug test and will lose his driver’s license. Despite the fact that Chris has obvious internal injuries and is coughing up blood, he asks Tony to call him a taxi (The Sopranos ended almost three years before Uber came to be). Tony, unlike Chris, was wearing a seatbelt, and makes it through the violent crash with moderate injuries; He can still walk and gets out of the truck to help Chris. However, Tony sees that a branch has come through the back window and impaled the car seat where Chris’s infant daughter could have been sitting. This, combined with Chris’s chronic drug use and Tony’s worry that he might flip and become a government informant, prompts Tony to suffocate Christopher to death by pinching his nostrils shut and allowing him choke on his own blood. Tony is never suspected of this murder, but in my opinion it solidifies Dr. Melfi’s belief that Tony Soprano is a sociopath.

The song playing in Chris’s Escalade when he crashes it, Comfortably Numb, is about heroin addiction and is thus a nod to the young mobster’s own personal demons and heroin addiction; Christopher Moltisanti was never in therapy like Tony Soprano, but based on his ruthless and often violent behavior throughout the series, I’m pretty sure he was a sociopath as well.

Also, I don’t think it would be fair to say straight up that Tony Soprano was one of my favorite characters (even though he was) because that would be way too obvious. Therefore, I’ve always named Christopher Moltisanti as my favorite character; Even though I’m not a violent and sociopathic mafioso, and certainly not a drug addict, I found myself being able to relate to several of Chris’s personal problems throughout the series.

Second to Chris on my list of favorite characters would be Bobby “Bacala” Baccallieri, who managed to become a made man without murdering anybody and never cheated on his wife, among other things; Unlike many of the other characters, he was not violent and definitely had a conscience.

But it’s still an older truck that I don’t know the history of; That’s why I’m on the fence about this red 2004 TRD 5-speed!

There were several characters who I disliked, but I don’t want this to be mistaken for not liking the skills of the actors and actresses; In fact, the fact that I genuinely loathed Richie Aprile tells me that the man who played him (David Proval) was one hell of an actor.

Other characters I did not like because they were nasty sons of bitches included Ralph Cifaretto (Joe Pantoliano) and Phil Leotardo (Frank Vincent); Again, their jobs were to play ruthless mobsters, and they were pretty good at their jobs!

One character I didn’t dislike but often found annoying was Tony Soprano’s narcissistic older sister, Janice; Nancy Marchand, who played Tony’s mother Livia for the first two seasons before passing away in 2000 (her death was written into the series), was possibly better than lead actor James Gandolfini in my opinion! Livia Soprano was a mean old bitch and for that I loved her!

To be honest she might want to sell the Tacoma and get as much as she can so she can use those proceeds and the insurance payout from the totaled Subaru to buy another Subaru in cash…

She loves my truck, but she wants something with a backseat and always tell me "you love your truck too much to give it up", which is true...

Dipstick after the truck sat in the parking lot at work for approximately seven hours; It is a little bit low, but it looks pretty normal otherwise, and as for the oil levels being a bit above the little limit mark it’s been doing for YEARS…

After wiping the dipstick clean and putting back in there; My truck is due for an oil change in less than 650 miles so that’s why it’s dirty. However, there are no obvious signs that there is coolant in the oil or that there is anything else wrong…

I think this is being way over thought.

Toyota says > 1 Quart in 1,200 miles is excessive.
