That close? Wow, that's worrying. According to reports it's movin north and away (so far) from residential areas, but if it heads any further it won't be good

 

First fire I’ve seen named after the company that appears to have ‘allegedly’ started it. Just a guess, no facts whatsoever.

TMFD did confirm it started in their yard but didnt have a cause

Not sure if it's due to panic, but the traffic in south reno is absolutely insane. Roads backed up like I've never seen

Edit: found out all southbound closed and we're the only exit. Wonderful

 

The one thing that I think has been great about fire coverage in the last few years is Reno FD and TMFPD do a really good job at posting updates on their Twitter. I don’t even have a twitter account but just Google them and there’s usually info as soon as you see smoke.

 

We must live pretty close to each other; I'm right around Geiger and Toll Road, so it wasn't looking good for a while there (packing up too). It is impressive how fast those helicopters are hitting that lake and dropping water; those guys are rapid-cycling those trips. It's wild to watch it from basically across the street.

Most of the agencies and news outlets are using the hashtag, so that's pulling all the updates together which is nice.

My wife had to head up to south meadows to pick up our son and got stuck there. So they got to go on a dinner date without me lol.

Yeah I’m in Curti ranch, very close. Looks like they got it under wraps. Very impressive the work those guys do.

 

All the 50 traffic is detoured on to 28 it's crazy up here. Traffic is backed up from Spooner halfway to Incline Village going South.

 

Yes it's very bad in the Damonte area. It took me an hour to get home coming down Veteran's from my shop in Sparks.

While I am posting I wanted to say hi to everyone in here. I stumbled across this thread recently and figured it was time to check in. I moved to So.Reno with my wife and kids back in November mainly to help care for my FIL who was recently diagnosed with dementia. I really hate to be part of the mass migration here but family comes first.

Anyway I hope that you guys in the affected fire areas stay safe tonight. Please holler if you need anything or need a place to run to should you have to evacuate.

And not sure what they did to these bed bolts when i had it in for work on the composite bed about 4 years ago, but one is tightened beyond what i could imagine is spec. I swear it's well past 100+ because even with a longer ratchet it won't budge. Breaking out the ugga dugga i have at work tomorrow.

 

If anyone sees a brand new bare steel third gen taco high clearance rear bumper with tire carrier for sale locally, can you please shoot me a pm? About two weeks ago I had one get “lost” at a local freight terminal after being dropped off wtf…

EDIT: It was found. Two dock searches didn’t find it, but after a claim was filed it popped up the next day

 

I miss 2020's traffic during the stay in home orders. It was so nice to commute.
