Ooh yea I like that considering it's just one hole to drill.
I don't like drilling holes in the dash for a mount, but I think I can maybe live with this one since it's just one

Fun sized truck on a fun sized vacation. New skid plate worked great, truck ran great overall.

It's just a piece of aluminum. I cut a hole large enough for the USB to fit through and put grommets on.

It was one hole till I drilled the other two for the cords. You could make a bracket to fit between the center dash face, but there's so many holes all over the truck that aren't supposed to be there I didn't care about adding a few more. Some were planned properly and used, some were not....

On the subject of elockers and swapping, Timmy the Toolman has a great video of doing it in a T4R, but everything is just the same with truck. It includes good info on the wiring portion. I found it while I was starting to chase the issues with my locker. Unfortunately, it wasn't in the wiring.

More of a rust belt issue:

Note the corrosion next to the gear. It had basically eaten all the way through the alloy.

New one works like a charm.

Good point, actually. Bought it a long time ago when I was with TTORA, and just mounted it now. Lol
But after installing it, I thought the same. I think a better design would've been to have one that mounts to the cross member and side frame of the truck. Nevertheless, I think it does offer better protection than the stock sheet metal skid.

It does, but I drill two 5/8" diameter holes on the underside, so water/mud can drain out.
