Ever since I saw that Tenere 700 posted a bit ago with the Supermoto set up I can’t stop thinking about how much fun that would be haha.

    Alright boys.
    Should I trade the FZ10 for a tiger 800?

Ever since I got my crf450l I’ve enjoyed trails and random stuff way more than going balls out fast on the street. Adv bike for mild gravel roads would be killer.

The FZ10 is a beast but 3rd gear power wheelies at will gets annoying. And it’s not as comfortable as I hoped.

I had an FJ09 and it was good, a ‘99 speed triple that I have and love, and a ‘13 speedy that I had, really liked, sold for the FZ10.

I think the tiger is a logical choice here? Should be almost a straight trade. I’ll get butt fucked a little because it’s a dealer, but then I don’t have to sell private party or wait for a decent buyer.

Lol! I'd have to save up the difference first, so maybe in a year... or two?

Well, other than dealing with a dealer, would there be any downsides to making that switch?

Duly noted, great information and as always, I really appreciate it.

Here are pictures of the kickstand mount, you can see where the threaded bung is missing in the left hole. I was hoping I could have a threaded stud welded in that hole and just use a nut, but you have a good point about cutting and swapping that section.

I don’t really have the budget to pay for welding, so I was hoping for a cheap solution. Also, the kickstand itself is quite bent from when it fell over. I tried bending it back but couldn’t make it happen.

man I’ve been reading on the forums about the dct one. Some people love it. Would have to try it. The one I found that’s cheap is a dct.... but the dct may be why haha

Guy tried to sell me a Rebel 1100 DCT for my wife. I explained she wants to shift herself and he said “it’s both, automatic and manual. Just no clutch.” Haha. Wasn’t sure if he meant you can shift with paddle shifters or what but that’s an automatic to me.

I think there are major upsides for some riders for the DCT and I’d love to try it just to try something fun and new. Heck, if my hands/spine/etc keep getting worse and worse I may be happy to eschew a clutch one day in order to keep riding longer distance. Who knows! If you end up owning/riding the DCT for a while (or anyone here owns one) let us know how it feels as a daily. I’m getting to grow past the knocking it before I try it part of my brain these days! Could be amazing!

If I get an adv bike it’ll go off road. I personally see having dct being an asset there. Can have both hands fully on the bars at all times instead of trying to feather a clutch. Not a big deal on a dirt bike but on a 500 on machine I bet it makes a difference. Plus creeping along over rocks feathering a clutch for miles and miles gets old too

I do wonder how well the DCT “feathers” for you though, you know?

Maybe I’ll go back today and ride that DCT Rebel and find out. I think I’ll call them right now thanks to your post ha.

I was thinking that being able to feather the clutch is what gives one so much control in corners and slow speeds. Will the DCT just be like full clutch out full power on in corners and where needed? Or will it have a light gradual easily modulated pull at low rpm? I’m going to call and find out now haha if they let me test ride anyway.

Agree. You will always have more control with the clutch lever than the ecu deciding when to shift offroad. Get a rekluse if you want something along those lines

Ive only heard of those in passing. Is my limited understanding correct in that it just disengages the clutch at low rpm so you don’t stall at idle or any other time you’d lug it too low? Basically an anti-stall-device?
