What was yours? I notice you were in a cast instead of a splint. How was recovery?

Bingo! No really, it's a battery powered SCD to keep from getting blood clots (DVT/PE).

I had some crazy bone spurs, and one of them broke off into my achilles. They opened up the back of my foot, removed my shoes from my foot, ground down the bone and picked pieces out, then reattached my achilles. I start physical therapy in the middle of August, and go to Idaho for an elk hunt in October.

where is your hunt in Idaho? Its one of my favorite states. Dad grew up there, and I worked a ranch there for a year after high school..

 

I pulled the achiles tendon off the back of my heel in a backpacking fall. Had to hike 6 miles to get out of the woods and back to my car. Surgery to reattach and recovery went well, doc did a great job.

 

Nez-Perce Clearwater NF. An area a few hours southwest of Missoula. The hunting zone is Lolo.

Damn, that had to be a terrible hike back. Glad to hear you're doing better though. I was lucky enough to catch this before a rupture and was in a boot for a month before surgery. The downside to that is my calf was already extremely atrophied before surgery. This picture was after only 3 weeks in the boot.

 

Man thats as good as it gets.

you guys and your achilles injuries. I can think of a lot of other ways i would like to get hurt before that.
