They'll probably just put a ratcheting strap to the opposite side tie down and to the latch on the wider side and pull it straight. But bed stiffeners would be a good thing to install once they are finished.

I made my first Costco run with the new bed mat.

Holy. Crap. That thing is WAY stickier than I thought it would be.

I put 2 jugs of apple juice, a box of cereal and a couple other things in the back and nothing moved an inch. That is impressive.

I added some footwell lights, installed the Meso dome light so my Meso map lights no longer look out of place and installed The Great Wave off Kanagawa patch that I got off a TW member.

How did you do those footwear lights? Seen a few posts on this thread about them recently.

    Brand?

    I knew someone would ask.

It’s actually just a single blue USB LED attached to a USB extension cable that is run to a dual USB port I have wired up under the dash . The USB LEDs I purchased are no longer available on Amazon, but I did use this different brand in another spot on the truck and they are even brighter than the ones I used. The USB extension cable fits perfectly in a square hole at the bottom of the passenger side dash trim. On the drivers side, I just have one zip tied in place at the moment. I have attached a pic of the passenger side led placement and the drivers side illumination just for the heck of it.

My truck looked like this new so I put bed stiffiners in and at first the driver side still had a bigger gap with no change. After a few months, I looked back and the gap got smaller.

The tailgate can shift slightly side to side and maybe over use gets in a grove in that position. All I know is I shifted mine awhile back to even it up and I’m pretty sure it has stayed (at least hasn’t jumped out at me like before). This was awhile after bed stiffeners were installed

The tailgate can shift left/right a bit. Just push it to the right a bit. Happen to my 21 Tacoma as well. The only time you should be concern is when the gap isn't even at the top vs the bottom.

@tehkei90 I'm pretty sure you can fix this in 10 seconds.

Open your tailgate but hold it @ ~½-⅔ of the way open--where ever it needs to be to stop it where the lower rotating points allow it to be removed (they're not perfectly circulator). At that point pull the tailgate toward you slightly and slide it latterly as needed.

 Glad you can "read between the lines". Dad jokes. Yes.

Fort Knox now... might it have been Fort Hood back in those days?

My 2020 had a weird tailgate gap and it was just the tailgate shifting from one side to the other during normal use (when the tailgate is open, i can slide it left or right ~1/8", maybe a little more). My diamondback cover prevents the tailgate from shifting now and I have total chaos stiffeners, but that gap definitely caught my eye when I first got the truck (and it definitely pissed me off). Figured I'd throw this out to see if your issue was similar.
