I read that thread. He was one smart mofo, we had our TTORA Hooters meets with him around Houston. I hope he is doing well today. I recall Nathan, swapped goods a few times with him. TTORA 4Life

Nothing real exciting but I did add a BetterBuilt toolbox to my bed. I used their Grip-Tite system which required me to cut holes in the bedliner. I think that I am now going to look into one of the spray-on bedliner options.

One of my tailgate cables broke. The cable inside the rubber tubing was rusted through. I ordered a set off Amazon for $17. We’ll see how they do.

That is awesome. Good to hear he is doing well.

I recall the thrill of finding Tacoma Territory. It was my first online forum experience. There were all these guys that had a truck just like mine. And all they wanted to do was talk about how they wanted to make them better. So, so cool.

Somehow this does not surprise me one bit. :hattip:

PNW chapter member here. 1998 I believe. Still friends with one other guy from that group. Unfortunately, I can no longer find my club cards and plaque. They were lost somewhere in one of the many moves since then.

Speaking of old Toyota forums, I'm sure some of you remember Yotatech

Back in 2005 I got my first Tacoma, a 1999 Prerunner. Tacomaworld wasn't around yet and somehow Yotatech popped up first when I looked for a forum so I joined there, spent a lot of time on there for a couple years.

Sold that truck when I went to college. Got my 04 in 2016 and went to see if Yotatech was still around, still was but it's just a shell of what it used to be. Heard the owner sold it off years ago and now it's full of annoying ads and just a few regular posters.

While I'm here, there is always confusion about e-locker swaps.

A 1st gen Taco e-locker (8") 3rd can not be put into a Taco 8.4" housing or the other way around. The bolt pattern and mount surface/diameter are different.

The 3rd gen 4R's use an 8" rear for both the open and e-locker but the housings are slightly different. The locker version has a small cut out and 2 longer studs to accommodate/clear the locker/actuator.
This is where the confusion comes in. It is no big deal to grind a little relief in an 8" 4r housing and drill/tap for the longer studs. ECGS sold a "kit" to do this. It contained an e-locker 3rd gasket and the 2 longer studs that pass thru the actuator. The gasket served as a template for the 2 new stud holes and the area to be ground away.

It would be a whole lot easier to put an e-locker 3rd from a Taco or 4R into an open 4R housing than to swap an entire Taco e-locker into a 4R and deal with all the suspension mount changes and possibly e-brake changes.

This is the original diagram for DIY wiring using a simple non Toyota switch with no relay, pretty simple.

Refurbishing these 06 Forester seats for a swap. I’ll never do this again.

I got some 2016 Altima seats awhile back, the foam and fabric were in decent shape but dirty and rusty. Such a pain to clean, I kept thinking to myself this is totally not with it. But for $75 and super comfortable seats I couldn't pass it up and have been really happy with them.

Im a fan of those seats as well. They had a couple of Altima’s but they weren’t in that great of shape.

I was surprised at how difficult it was to find seats that weren’t leather/vinyl and aren’t power.

If I don’t like these, they were $90. So no big deal. Planned on keeping my original seats anyway.

Yeah I had a hard time as well finding somewhat decent seats. Around here unless you grab em as soon as they come in they're left in the elements.

    Me too. Lol

Still rockin' the slowly disintegrating TTORA windshield banner (actually a replacement of the 1st one, which had "Tacoma" instead of "Toyota"), and quarter panel decals, too!20210617_202323.jpg 20210617_202337.jpg 20210606_002803.jpg
