    I went metal last fall. Much better than shoveling off the roof since it's shallow pitch and prone to ice dams.

    The metal will last 30-40 years easy. Today's shingles have less tar now so not as reliable.

    Standing seam is the better option than; it's a little more expensive as it's more labour-intensive to install, but it's worth it. You will never need another roof.

    If money isn’t an issue, tin all day. But I’m cheap and shingles work well. I actually just signed the contract for a new roof on the house and the barn/workshop. 12k :eek::annoyed: (shingles)

    1200 sq/ft for the house $6150.
