The girl I’m dating was beat by her ex husband, he’s got charges on him from another woman. Not only has the first case taken many years to even get to court, he’s still out and about. System really is bullshit when it’s someone you love. I’ve seen the pictures and have no problem being the judge or jury.

Actually the last few pages have talked about lots of crime going unpunished by the system. It wasn't until one of those criminals found a victim that was willing to ignore laws too, that we started talking about how far victims should be allowed to go against those that are trying to fuck them.

Or, I'm okay and you need help. It's all a matter of perspective.

Go to San Francisco, walk into any store, grab anything under $1,000, or anything really, and walk out. Even if a security guard stops you, and most are ordered not to, the cops won't do anything, and that's if they bother to show up. So the reward is anything you want for free, the punishment is living in San Francisco. That and slipping on the pile of human feces on the sidewalk as you walk out the door with your new tv...

I saw a therapist. He said there was nothing he could do for me. That means I'm cured right?

That is pretty much statewide. The idiots in this state voted to raise the minimum to $950 a few years ago. Supposedly you could receive a citation but I doubt that's happened yet.

Yes and no. It comes down to the cities and their police officers. Here in San Diego I still see police show up to pick up shoplifters at Walmart. That said, I have seen kids walking out with beer twice. The last one had a cube under each arm, and in each hand. Walked right out the door while the 70 year old greeter stood there and said "sir you can't do that, you have to pay for that". She was wrong, they didn't have to pay for that.

    Yeah.
There are more potential consequences of committing a crime against another person than just what the law states. People have a right to protect their property, and many will do so with force that can end up being deadly. If we didn't have that right, we'd likely see a lot more home invasions. If you are a criminal trying to steal my stuff, I shouldn't have to weigh my stuff against your life, you've already done that math.

Not for sharia law, but we could use some improvements. Was watching a show last night where a convicted murderer got released after 10 years due to overcrowding. That is not right.

I think you have a point in that criminals who are themselves breaking the law automatically seem to assume that their victims will abide by the law.

I guess it's a big surprise when their victim is just as willing or even more so to break the law.

This is when you get family members of the criminal screaming to the press how GOOD he was and would never do anything to anyone.

Being a criminal can be a dangerous profession. You takes your chances when messing with someone else's property.

Do I think the victim went too far in this case? Absolutely.

Do I think the criminal knew what he was doing when he decided to steal someone else's property? Absolutely.

The criminal picked the wrong person to steal from that time.

Up here in northern CA, in my county at least, it's pretty much the same. The rule is <$1,000 in goods is not of interest to law enforcement and it is very unlikely to get prosecuted. My mother-in-law saw someone pushing a cart out the front door with a flat screen TV and all the greeters did was verbally ask her to stop and bring it back. Sad, very sad.
