Unless he can’t connect tomorrow and can’t close and doesn’t have it set to automatically exercise the option. That would be a loss of sorts

Dumb question but If I were to buy a put and then they do a split would the same dollar amount for the contract be there? Or would I auto adjust? For example I buy a wayyyy OTM put like a 9/18 400 put(or something similar) and then they split. That put would be instantly way ITM.

don't work that way...they would adjust the value accordingly...your puts would be split in the same ratio.

it can get funky. I had puts on VXX when it split and i think my puts actually ended up getting kind of fucked...i.e. making less money than i should've...if your expiration is way out though, things may get sorted accordingly.

    https://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/what-happens-to-options-when-stock-splits/

The "being made whole" calculation is relatively straightforward for options. Each option contract typically controls 100 shares of an underlying security at a predetermined strike price. The new share ownership is generated by taking the split ratio and multiplying by 100 while the new strike price is generated by taking the old strike price and dividing by the split ratio.

For example, if you buy a call option that controls 100 shares of XYZ with a strike price of $75. If XYZ announces a 2:1 stock split, the contract would now control 200 shares with a strike price of $37.50. On the other hand, if the stock split is 3 for 2, the option would control 150 shares with a strike price of $50.

I had this happen with some no name ticker I was playing options on late last year. It just averaged out.

Here's my current thinking. The split occurs on July 19th. I exercise the last $600 call. On Monday I sell a JULY 16 $800 call. Current premium is $1040. It'll be higher tomorrow if the AH holds into pre-market then open. If it gets exercised it's a 20K trade for holding for a 26 days. If it doesn't my 100 shares convert to 400 shares and I sell DEC expiry on those at staged strikes.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
    Here's what happened to $UTME
Huge short attack. 3 million shares. The float is supposed to be small. 8.6m shares outstanding. Sounds like Twitter is trying to recruit the amc army.

These dipshits keep trying to "recruit" for buying days and shit on certain tickers are going to get us all in trouble. So many absolutely stupid people.

ON THE OTHER HAND. Penis lookin' Crymer can go on twitter and tweet "Billionaires Unite" and THAT'S OK?!?!?

Either let retail collaborate, or you rich assholes need to stop doing it as well

I think he can do his plan and still get in on GME after, it’s not going anywhere for a bit.

Traditional. I don't have a ROTH because I believe the powers that be will kill that tax loophole before I retire.
