I don't think they'll ever go so far as to take away options from retail, but I bet they'll make it so you have to be "approved" in such a way that it keeps the riffraff out.

There's been so many gamma squeezes in the last year caused by numbskulls buying way OTM options on dumb tickers. It's hilarious. Legit lottery tickets and the buyers have zero clue how the lottery works lol. In the mean time these hedge funds are like "Why the shit do I all of a sudden have to delta hedge $80 million dollars worth of worthless calls on some stupid stock trading at $4!"

 

If they seriously talk about it I’ll just withdrawal all my contributions and then the rest will be just like traditional. But I’ll take the chance for now just in case it’s still there when I retire.

No doubt that getting into a squeeze can produce results. I forget what my QS % was but it was well north of 2000%. Right place, right time and a bunch of momentum took it from $40 to $110. lol

 

I think if they see you pulled that on GME they will definitely not let you trade options anymore

All of this is literally going on in my backyard. The technology may or may not be sound, I'm not going to judge that, but what the company is trying to do overall needs to be paid close attention to. Reno is not happy with this, and our local .gov gave away Tesla-like concessions to them for what I personally believe, for now, is an absolute scam.
