    going to be fun!
So basically 10 squares (1 Square=100 sqft) $500 per sq seems high the going rate for Architectural shingles I was thinking $400 per sq

I have a 2 year tech degree in Machining and 6 years on job experience. Though my current job is more of a CNC Operator than a true Machinist.

Yeah no plans to move for a while. I got a good set of friends out here that I visit frequently that I'd hate to leave. Plus we just refi-d the house and the market is nuts. Looking to stick around the area for a long while. Plus the wife hates moving. We both came from split homes where we travelled constantly between parents so we like sticking to one place for a while.

All I know is I’ve shingled this place twice. Both times Shingle Company screwed me. First batch of 20year lasted 9. Second time 25year ones lasted a ‘lil over 10. Pack mulein’ bundles up a ladder 2 at a time is gettin’ powerful old for me. Shop needs new Shingles, goin’ Metal this time. I know when I’m licked.

We put a metal roof on our house roughly 15 years ago; $5k @ 1650 sq. ft. It's starting to fade but not planning on changing it anytime soon.
It has to be raining really hard to be able to hear it; the shop on the other hand, if it's raining hard you can't hear the person next to you talking. I've had some of my best naps in the shop during a rain shower.

That leave a mark? A bunch of dents would be a drawback to metal was a thought I had.

The house and shop were fine, my kid's car had some character added to it though.

Mine is 1200 square feet. I don't know what it equates to but I believe the number was 23 square on the roof.

The interlocking system was double that. Would be an overimprovement for my house though

I have a breezeway and then garage attached that we did shingles a few years ago, but that never gave us issues in the snow.

Guessing supply shortages might be part of this. If the $500 rate is accurate, times 23 (mine) that's 11.5K. I paid 11K for metal.

I needed a ton of plywood replaced too. Had a 12" round hole rotted through in the back.

Metal over the top of the shingles. And try this new thing called screws. My thumb still hurts.
