Definitely excited about the possibility of this becoming a reality. It's always something I have wanted to learn to do and there aren't really people locally that are available or want to accept he work (busy or lazy).

I'm just trying to build cool shit and send it.

I got a Hobart 140 and mess with it here and there. Its the highes amperage that can do gas and doesn't need a 220 plug, just the standard 115 plug. I have it on a 30A outlet. I don't really do anything for profit though.

Yeah. I want to keep the standard plug for the time being without having to out in a 220 service.

I live in an industrial heavy area and there's plenty of places that sell and refill gas. I think, after I pay off a few things, I think it's time to seriously consider investing in a decent setup and get to work on learning it. I think I'll put a few of the projects on hold; like the topper/bed bars and garage hoist system on hold.

With fuel prices the way they are and only, likely, getting worst, I think those plans can be put on hold for a season or two. Hell, using my welder and future skills can be put to use building my own bed bars....

OEM parts have showed up. The man in brown just dropped these off after I was finishing up cutting the grass on my lunch break:

    34A6D33E-15FA-4F78-A499-DB14C35C60E8.jpg

Still waiting on Toyota of Tupelo to ship the dust shields for the knuckles.

    :annoyed:

Fine by me, but, like, just ship them, no? Still have to get the knuckles cleaned up and get the hardware for the ABS sensors figured out. Looking like there's going to be a mod day at my buddy's place in July so I have some time.

Hoping to finish up these skids later this week/weekend. It's supposed to get VERY hot later this week and it would be a great opportunity to finish painting the skids and have them cure in the garage nicely. We shall see. I'm hoping to just have more of a relaxing weekend. Looking forward to it, actually.

Crazy to think I'm close to getting the stuff I have been hanging onto for 3 years. Had the new cam tabs and bolts delivered 3 years ago this week and 2 years ago I was painting up the knuckles.

    WILD.

Also, has anyone tried calling Deaver lately?

Can't get anyone to pick up their phone. Sent a message via their website and a message on Instagram.

I’ve heard their CS is lacking, which is why I went with icon. They couldn’t be bothered to reply to my email when I was scoping out a new pack.

Woolwax has been awesome at helping prevent corrosion, in my experience. We can chat about it at the 4x4 meet next week and take a look for yourself if you want - very easy to apply, minimal mess.

Shit. Need some retention clip bolts and sleeves. I know I have some from my Dakars and I wonder if they will work.

I can clean up the sleeves and replace the bolts. I'll have to check it out...

Sounds good. Looking forward to the event. It's always a good time.

:rofl:back when I installed sunroofs for dealers in the area they took a trade in on a PT cruiser that was converted to a convertible. It leaked bad. They would bring it to the shop for us to pull the intire interior and hang dry it Everytime someone forgot and left it out in the rain. I feel sorry for whoever ended up buying that POS. :D they must have payed us thousands trying to fix it and replacing molded carpet.

Got the LCA skids painted with high performance enamel and cured nicely in the garage in the hot weather. Was hoping to get them on today, but had other plans. No big deal. No rush.

Finally decided what I want to do for fender well liners. Anything that I was going to get would be $50ish in decent material. Plus the patience needed to trim and tweek it.

    Ordered these up on Friday:

I love that this was clearly done haphazardly on the shoulder of a major thoroughfare

I hope he changed the material he uses. The ones I got from him are cracking. They are 3 years old.
