new member, just put deposit down on my first Toyota. Carvana quoted me $20,552 on my 2016 Frontier which I paid $21 even for new. I'm getting a bare bones model with utility package(-$1,700), $384 below MSRP at $25,870. No sales tax as it will have a farm plate. So basically like $5,700 more(plus the write off) to go from a 2016 Frontier(also 4 cyl) to a 2021Tacoma, no brainer really.

One question, most reviews mention the low driving seat position in the base models without power seats. Is this a real issue for those currently driving one? I would assume one would get used to it over time and then be a non issue. thoughts?

    Welcome to TW.

It doesnt bother me at all, and I'm a tall and large person that likes to take long cross-country trips. That said, ergonomics and knowing what a proper seat position is, is paramount to comfort. There is little room for error in these trucks. They have the seat ergonomics of a car, which means you have to pay attention to how your hips, knees, elbows, and shoulders align with the controls.

Some people can't ever seem to find a comfortable position, so they use riser blocks that bolt under the seat, therefore tilting it forward or back. That seems to help them.

My advice is, drive it for 1000 miles, play with the seat positions, and if you still cant find comfort, try the risers.

I had that issue. I'm not short, but I like to drive so I can see over my hood vent. I was able to find some seat jackers that really helped me. Link to example below.

    Jackers

These also allow you to pick how raised you want the seat to be.

    Good Luck!

thanks for the link. That price seems ridiculously high for bolts and spacers though.

You can definitely DIY it, but as far as rising seat height goes that's about the only viable options (there are a few different people that make front/rear kits).

Most people put their thighs too high to create a “bucket” to sit in that causes their lower back to be in flexion all the time. The best thing to do is lower the thigh rest (if possible). That would solve a LOT of people’s seat problems
