Thanks for the recommendation. I have bike packing bags on my pedal bike (rather than panniers) as I pack light and they’re much more aero so I’m feeling a handlebar bag, tank bag, sissy bar bag, combo will be more than I could ever need on a trip. The wife and I both pack really light and after this riding season she’ll be on her own bike on trips so she’ll have her own bags as well. Thanks!

How much is a tank on ebay? $100? Or how much to fix that one. Id offer maybe 2200. Gotta be able to fix that for max $500

Picked up a $10 walmart bicycle top tube bag to use as a ghetto handlebar bag for this trip. Actually pleased with how well it stays in place, even if it doesn’t look the coolest haha but it’ll still hold sunglasses, wallet, keys, chapstick, ear plugs, etc just fine.

Leaving in like half an hour, woo!

If you could get it for $1500 it would be a okay deal. But by the looks of it, it was abused which makes it a hard no for me.

Man, the place I put a deposit down for the wife’s Grom said June when I did, then started saying July. Now it’s saying August for the ABS version I ordered. He said he’ll have a non-ABS in July and my bike in August.

Riding season is pretty much over here come September and we will be out of country July to August anyway so I’m torn.

Do I grab the non-ABS version in July so she can ride it for a week or two, but then leave for a month anyway, or wait until after our trip, get her ABS version in mid-end of August, and have her only have a month to ride before weather turns on us anyway…

About sick and tired of this Rona mumbo jumbo and poor economy. Ruined four important trips, our income, our savings, parts for my bike, and a bike for the wife already haha. Put the down payment on it with the understanding I’d have it by now, but it’s no climate to be demanding a discount ha.

I’d wait for ABS. Two weeks of riding isn’t worth skipping it

^^^ I agree. If you ordered the ABS, I'd just wait that little extra for the one you wanted for her.

Thanks, homies! She'll be disappointed to wait but I'll be happy to know she's a little safer. The downside is she keeps asking to ride my bike haha.

Anyone else looking at the new Grom? 5 speeds, no false 1st, engine updates, dash, easier to change plastics, flat seat, I'd say third-gen is a worthwhile upgrade rather than just another reboot. Hoping so anyway, "for the wife" of course. It's not like I'm going to steal it and put way more miles on it doing stupid things than she will or anything . . . haha.

I am keeping our 2019 Grom. Not worth the extra money to upgrade. Only thing the new one has worth upgrading is the 5 speed transmission but that’s an easy enough swap. Whole new set of plastics is $150 and not hard to swap.

It's not just the tank. The frame is scratched, as is the left side engine cover and fork tube. The front cowl is also mangled on the left and the right, which tells me it has probably been down more than once. I like my bikes to be in pristine condition. It would take too much to get that SV back in proper form.
