Excellent, that actually helps guide me a lot TY. Much as I spend time on computers I have zero clue how they work so this is great information.

That's crazy it only took you 12 times to win a shuffle. I was selected this past Friday (6/11) and that was my 50th (might be a few more than that - but I couldn't the "not selected" emails that I save and it was #50)

Nice! I like the 5000D Airflow. That's why I got it also :)

Is anyone an Acronis expert? First of all it's my fault but I got picked to beta test CCleaner's driver update feature. DO NOT DO IT. It ate lots of drivers and my old (but still pretty powerful) Win10 Pro computer crashed. Thinking it wasn't an issue I did a system restore from my NAS using the barely running Acronis 2018. It corrupted my SSD C: drive. It never restored the partitions from the prior backup. I then used an Acronis bootable recovery disk and that couldn't access the directory in my NAS with my backups. The passwords are correct because another computer gets to it just fine.

Why can't Acronis just recover from an image file no matter the name or location. I was able to move the file out of my NAS backup directory to another NAS directory where the bootdisk could find it but it complained it was moved. I was able to mount the image on another computer and copy my data files to an external drive. Fast forward: I built an entire new computer this week. I'm not going to go through the process of restoring programs and configurations on old equipment. I just need to trust a backup that will restore complete partitions from a backup. I reloaded Acronis and backups write just fine to the NAS but restoring says it's corrupt. Frustrated.

Jesus man, if your going to Youtube get some water on your rig. 99 c bench temps are brutal and not Windows fault. The temp increases tell me this Windows is much better at handling multicore loads to the GPU. Again, creating a hardware temperature increase as more resources can be used.

Same with the SSD. Windows 10 can only use one thread for file copies. Windows 11 must be multithreaded.

I almost wonder if Microsoft was like fuck it, we're building this for Ryzen. Intel stuff can melt.

Dont get why he benched it on a laptop. Those benchmarks always kill CPU temps on laptops from pretty much every manufacturer. Guess its cool to see theres still a lot of performance to be gained even with thermal throttling but would have been cooler to bench on that PC in the background with a AIO. BUT i didnt watch the whole thing and just skipped to results :)

Not surprised they went with multithreaded file transfer. With 10gb (and to some extent 25 and 40gb) becoming more and more affordable for home users and smaller companies.

100%. Windows biggest hardware issue was it never did that well with the resources it had because much of the OS was still single threaded. Seems like they fixed that.

    Lots of scammers here.

The simple version is you show up at "their house" and they gang beat the fuck out of you. Once you're down they take anything of value off your person and, if you're lucky, that's the worst of it. Obviously the way to dodge this one is to only meet random sellers in the local PO parking lot.

The newer version is you meet somewhere public. You arrive and they're not there, but they say they can see you and they'll come to you once you transfer the money. You transfer them money via friends and family on PayPal and they never show up with the card. You try to get the money back but PayPal says no, it was friends and family.

The best scam I saw come up in the local forums was a buyers scam. The scammer joined a couple of local FB PC groups and would advertised they wanted to buy any 30 series card for 50% over MSRP. People would bite and he'd give them directions to an address in a suburb. When the seller arrived the scammer would tell them to leave the card at the door because he would immediately transfer the funds after he saw the card was real. This is where it got a bit interesting. The seller would drop the card, the scammer would have a child walking by grab the card and bring it a block down to him, and take off. When the seller tried to chase or challenge him, the scammer would say he transferred the funds and something must be wrong on the sellers end. The whole scam relies on the confusion of the seller and the fact the buyer/scammer is never actually seen, only his kid. Sounds crazy but he stole a dozen or so cards this way before EPS (Edmonton Police) caught him with a sting.

Some of these scams seem too obvious to fall for. I was never a fan of selling on CL. I get to many scam messages, or people only have half of the money

Anytime I've sold on CL it's cash only period. I'm usually pretty fair about my pricing so I am not willing to dicker unless it's been sitting around, even at that I usually don't do it until the person is there.

I've sold large items or my wife's SUV at my house b/c they're just a pain in the ass to move around but I've always made sure she's home and in the house watching just in case. Otherwise, local PD which is on camera and has a spot designated.
