TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

What's going on? I'm lost with what you guys are talking about. What did I never install and plug up?

I don't have one, and am planning to just plug it. A new one is something like $40.

I check and clean my filter regularly, so I figure it's not needed.

 

yah I think I got it for under $20 so figure why not

 

Well this thing fought me every step of the way, but i managed to get the old alternator pulley off and the new one installed, and the alternator still works

Holy shit! I thought mine was bad for having pump pliers teeth marks on it.

Looks like you fought a 12 round fight with that thing.

 

It put up a good fight for sure. Started with a propane torch, then moved up to the acetylene torch, big channys, cutoff wheel, and then finally i noticed it was loose and i got a couple of big screw drivers under it and pried it up. Glad this one is over with lol it turned into a real battle like most things

 

Oh! May have to look at that for my 80. She builds some heat.

 

Reminds me of all the xrunner stories removing the old 2.825 urd pulley. Glad you won the battle

 

HP Tuners will delete it. It's weird the first time you turn the truck off and that extra little whine doesn't happen.

Not too good actually. They forgot all the hose clamps for your soft lines

 

Any updates on your truck @ThomasMore66 ? I haven't seen any updates on that youtube channel linked a while back.

yea ran out of dollhairs...hose clamps are hella expensive at JD. something about asking questions and watching *upcharge* last time I was there. I'm still waiting for the revenge when I loaded the beadlock rings with washers and then they got spilled all over. Fun times.

 

so is it best to remove the alt to swap pulleys? i was hoping to do it in place. should i get a cherry picker for my crank pulleys?!? damn that looks brutal. glad you won.

 

i called that noise an emission control qu**f.

 

Mine is not monitored anymore. I still have mine in for now…..until at least my next emission check this fall. I wanna make sure I can pass then I will yank that stuff out finally.
