Finally got the truck I’ve been wanting earlier this week, have a question. I have a 2017 v6, long story short truck came with toyocare and I took it to get 60k service on it yesterday, well I drive it home then drove it up to the base I’m stationed which is about 2 hours away, next thing I know I have an oil low indication. I get off check the bottom of the truck oil everywhere, drain plug was secure but oil filter wasn’t. My question is how bad is it to have all that oil piss all over the place? Should I have it towed to the nearest Toyota dealer ( at the dealer who serviced its expense )? Is the engine or surrounding components seriously affected ?

Yes, you should call the dealer and get it towed.

You could tighten everything up... top up the oil adequately and then give the shop a call to ask for a refund? ... Or just to cuss at them at the very least?

What you have on your hands is a giant mess that the dealer will have to make good on. Your low oil warning comes on before as last of the oil is pumped out of the sump, so as long as you pulled over right away, you should be fine.

I wouldn't recommend running it low on oil, thankfully those lights come on pretty early so hopefully nothing is damaged. Absolutely take it up with the dealership, that's on them...

Cussing is a guarantee, I guess I’m just concerned about the oil being all over the place, I’ve never had something like this happen before. My other car I usually did all the servicing. But since it was covered I figured why not.

I would have it towed in and check the oil dipstick and hope it's not bone dry . Yes this should all be at dealers expense and make them clean up the mess too .

I think the mess should be your dealers issue. No reason they can’t do a nice job cleaning it up. Ask for a new serpentine belt and your next oil change free.

The dealer didn't even really change the oil on my first service. They just pulled the drain plug and reinstalled it with no oring. The second one, they actually changed the oil, but still installed with no drain plug oring and over torqued the living shit out of the housing.
The housing could be cracked or have no orings, advising him to tighten stuff down and refill is a dangerous thing to do with a new purchase and a warranty.

Get it towed. Make it a financial burden for them. Make sure it's well documented in their records so when it eats a valve, you're covered.

Having it brought in by a tow truck is the start of the stink. If you drive it in, seems less of a problem and more of an inconvenience.
Sorry, but this is a PROBLEM!

Make sure they clean up the under-carriage for you as well. If there are any spots left over a can of brakleen should do the trick. I hate dealerships and I work for one

Good call, it happened a couple times at the dealership I worked at and they always wanted it back. A tow truck was used or they had a gooseneck transport trailer for dealer trade's and auction purchases. If it was available. They took this thing seriously.

have the dealer clean it up and redo the oil change and filter. The oil change gimp has social media issues. Sad fact, with these young phone addicted turds.

Zero attention span and zero patience.
